Our small but mighty team is growing, friends! As many of you know, our company houses two brands: Southern Weddings, and Cultivate What Matters. Both brands exist to help you cultivate what matters, right where you are, whether that’s your relationship, an intentional wedding day, a thriving business, or a joyful life. We are a unique company! Each team member contributes to both the Southern Weddings and Cultivate operations. And now, we’re looking for a new team member who loves the heart of both brands and can help us take our work to the next level.

We are committed to finding the right person (or persons!) and tailoring their responsibilities in a way that suits them and our growing business. That being said, here is what we’re looking for:

The person most fit for this position:
– Is a good writer
– Has strong copy editing skills
– Has a strong knowledge of our brand and heart for our mission
– Has a strong personal aesthetic and exquisite taste
– Has a passion for PEOPLE – including brides, moms, students, and business owners!
– Has extraordinary people skills (email and in person)
– Has some knowledge of/experience in the wedding industry
– Has a joyful spirit and thrives on “situation solving”

This person’s tasks may include:
– Customer service correspondence via social media and email
– Writing blog posts, newsletters, magazine features, and social posts for both SW and CWM
– Copy editing all sorts of content across both brands
– Back-end content and marketing support: loading photos, formatting posts, product sourcing, vendor communication, tracking campaigns, etc.
– Online shop and fulfillment assistance: correspondence, boxing, stickering, assembling, etc.

We are looking for someone excited to jump in and tackle any and every task with excitement and flexibility!

We are open to candidates who can commit to either part-time or full-time employment, with preference given to those who can work in our Chapel Hill, NC office.

Moments after I finished the real wedding interview for the blog, I sent Mrs. Emily Thomas an email with a flurry of excitement and a million exclamation points. The process of filling out the questions brought me right back to my wedding day, and I immediately knew that I would treasure having these answers forever. I also knew that we needed to figure out how to give this gift of memory capturing to ALL our brides. While we can’t feature every reader’s wedding on Southern Weddings (gah, I wish we could), we want to give everyone the opportunity to remember and record this special season of life. Our solution? Meet: Memories of Us: A Prompted Wedding Journal

This sweet prompted journal covers everything from your engagement to the emotional whirlwind of your wedding day, to your honeymoon, to the sweet early days of newlywed life. We know all these memories are precious and we don’t want you to forget a thing! The prompts are inspired by the real wedding interview from the SW blog and print magazine and encourage you to capture all the moments (both big and small) of your marriage journey. We hope that your journal becomes a keepsake for years to come!

Every single one of my girlfriends who gets engaged gets a Memories of Us journal as a gift from KPW and me. Why? Because as someone who self-identifies as an “anti-journaler’ I love this little memory keeper so very much!! The prompts make it feel less like a ‘journal’ (important for someone who is anxious at the thought of free-writing) and more like answering the best and most personal questionnaire. (There are also extra blank pages to capture your feelings and other details if you are a journal kind of gal.)

After getting engaged, I was bombarded with people who told me “good luck, you won’t remember a single thing about your wedding day.” As a gal who had been looking forward to getting married since the ripe old age of four, this was less than encouraging. I knew our wedding season would be a whirlwind, but I was determined to remember as many moments as possible, and I want the same for all my best friends and for all of you. We have a limited number of journals available right here so snag one for yourself or a best friend who recently got a new left-hand sparkler!

I’m grateful that the Memories of Us: A Prompted Wedding Journal is one of my Southern Weddings claims to fame. And even more grateful that our future kids and grandkids will be able to flip back through our wedding memory journal and giggle over the missing candle incident and understand why the first few chords of Strawberry Wine always make me burst into tears.

Happy memory capturing, belles!

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! We have been hard at work over the last few months making the Southern Weddings Shop an even lovelier and more helpful resource for y’all, and today is an exciting day! Our shop has a brand new, easy to navigate look, new features, and some mighty fine new products. Let’s take a look around!

It’s true, we’re smitten with our shop’s new look, but she’s even prettier on the inside, if you know what I mean. Y’all now have the option of leaving reviews for our products, which will be so helpful to future brides and gift-givers! Thank you to everyone who has already left a review (and if you’d like to leave your own, we would so appreciate that!).

In addition to our signature products like the Joyful Wedding Planner, the Memories of Us prompted journal, and the Welcome Home guest book, today we’re excited to launch a library of wedding planning e-books! These e-books, priced from $6-$18, are meant to either accompany our wedding planner (they go into more depth than we could in the planner, or cover entirely new topics), or stand apart from it (for example, if you’ve already purchased a different wedding planner but want our take on a topic).

Today, we’re so happy to share our first two e-books: All About Southern Wedding Traditions ($6) and the Ultimate Guide to Budgeting for Your Wedding ($12). You’ll be hearing more about both in the weeks to come, as well as other offerings! Shhh… a little birdy told me a guide for mothers of the bride is up next :)

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and our shop’s relaunch, we’re celebrating with 14% off EVERYTHING for today only with code ILOVESW. Plus, we’ll throw all of y’all who purchase something from the shop TODAY into a hat and draw one winner for a $50 Visa gift card, which we’ll mail in time for a date night this weekend! So fun.

So, go take a click around, and tell us what you think! I’d also love to hear: what would you love to see in future e-book topics?
