Help for Fred Egan

by in News on

Photographer Fred Egan lost a lot of his personal belongings in a fire today.  My heart breaks for him.  His close friend, photographer Jory Cordy, just wrote a post that really says it all.  We’ve set up a place to make donations and if you are a clothing company and would like to donate Fred’s favorite, bowties, I’m sure it would put a smile on his face. Email us.

Also, be sure to shop Paloma’s Nest where all proceeds from the sale of the FAITH dove bowl, now until Christmas, will go to help Fred.

Fred is a phenomenal photographer and so passionate about his work.  A little peek at Fred’s Watercolor feature in our current issue… brilliant.  Please donate and send him some words of encouragement!

Big hugs and prayers from all the SW gals,

Lara, Katharine, Whitney, Emily, Sydney and Alyssa

Donate here and spread the word!  Thanks, y’all.

Last week, we asked for some Southern-inspired additions to our super top-secret gift baskets for an epic surprise we have planned!  (More details – and pictures – to follow soon!)  We must have some true  Southern fans (and real-life Southerners!) on this blog, because we received some great suggestions for our down-home Dixie baskets.

Our favorite?  Katie’s vote for some good old-fashioned Firefly Vodka (complete with her favorite family recipe, as well):

A big bottle of Firefly Vodka is so cute and so definitely Southern!  Given different accoutrements, this could easily fit in either basket.  Add a bag of porkrinds and flask and it’s Dirty South all the way!  Personally, I’d vote for a recipe tag for a Ginger Glow (1 part Firefly, 1 part gingerale, a lemon twist) tied with satin ribbon to the stem of a monogrammed glass.  Perfectly preppy, in the very best sense.

We have to agree, and think we might even have to take Katie up on her suggestion.  Katie, email me at katharine {at} iloveswmag {dot} com to claim your prize!

Thanks again to all our fantastic fans!  We can’t wait to show you our legendary gift baskets.
