Southern Weddings

Monthly Archives: March 2015

If you recognize the lovely couple below, then big hugs to you, because you must be a longtime reader! Emily and Monty‘s wedding was featured in V3 back in 2010, and they’ve now been married for over five years and are the parents of an adorable little girl. We got back in touch with them to find out their favorite thing about marriage for V7, and I think y’all will love what Emily shared as much as we do!

My favorite thing about being married is the romance and comfort in having a true partner to navigate all the good and bad things life throws at you. I think when you’re young, it can be easy to worry that the toughest thing about marriage will be the consistency (which, in your 20s, you may fear translates to monotonous). But life is a constant stream of changes, so when you have someone who inspires you to be go after change, and someone who makes you strong enough to endure unwanted changes, the whole experience is an adventure. There’s nothing boring about it.

Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

One word to describe life in the Southern Weddings office this week? Dusty. Our office is knee-deep in renovations, but everything is really starting to come together! Walls are painted and carpets are on the floor, and after a few more windows are put in and all the finishing touches are complete, we’ll be ready to move in, along with all of our new furniture. We can’t wait to get settled and share the results with y’all, but keep following along with #TheOfficeReno on Instagram in the meantime!

Emily and I are packing our bags and heading to the Lone Star State next week, and we can hardly wait! As some of you may know, Texas is my home state, and I’m giddy with excitement to share some of my favorite places (ahem, Torchy’s Tacos) and my old stomping grounds with Emily. We’ll be doing two editorial shoots for V8 while we’re there, and since we’re not in Texas very often, we knew we had to take advantage of this opportunity to hug as many of our sweet Texas readers and vendor friends as possible. We’ll be hosting meet-ups in both Houston and Austin on Tuesday, March 24, and having a Southern Weddings Shop pop-up shop in Houston–see below for all of the details!

Houston: We are tickled pink to be hosting a meet-up and Southern Weddings Shop pop-up shop at the beautiful BHLDN store in downtown Houston! Vendors are invited to join us at 9:00 AM, and readers and brides are welcome at 10:30 AM. We’ll have our favorite prints, our Marriage Certificate, Love Note notepads, and the Sweet Tees line available for sale, and Whisk Bakery will be providing tasty treats! No, 10:30 AM is not too early for lemon blueberry cupcakes and Mexican hot chocolate brownies :)

Austin: We can’t wait to spend time with y’all in Austin! We’ll be at Hey Cupcake on South Congress from 7-9 PM. Come by, grab a cupcake, and hang out with us! (If the weather is bad, keep an eye on Instagram for an alternate location).

We can’t wait to see y’all! Comment below and let us know if we’ll get to meet you in Texas!

Will you be making it to other states this summer? Say, Richmond, VA? :)

Hi Morgan! We are actually going to Richmond next week, but it’s just for a quick day trip. We definitely hope to be there again soon with time to do a meet-up–we’d love to meet you! :)
