Today’s Sweet Tea Sunday comes from one of our lovely Blue Ribbon Vendors, Tamara of Tamara Menges Designs! Tamara is a longtime supporter of Southern Weddings, and we love that she shares our heart for strong marriages and meaningful details. She and her husband, Kason, have been married for almost eight years, and we were so excited to learn their favorite thing about marriage!
For Kason, his favorite things about being married are that after 13 years together, we are still silly. We rarely take ourselves, or even our disagreements, too seriously, we strive to always keep the mood light, and we try to end every day with laughter. Our first seven months of marriage were long distance, with K in Iraq and me home in Texas, so the simple joy of ending our days in each other’s arms is pretty monumental for us.
For me, I think my favorite thing is the simplicity of us being us. It has always been us. We have always held steadfast to the beauty of partnership, and have always eagerly sought after growing together, and allowing our Lord to shape our marriage. From daily prayer together, to reading marriage books together, to attending newlywed classes, we never shy away from opening ourselves up for instruction.
