Monthly Archives: June 2014

Happy Saturday, belles! We’ve spent the past week busy as bees wrapping up details for our two upcoming V7 shoots, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come. Working with passionate vendors, sweet readers, and inspiring businesses fires us up, and other than when the finished magazine reaches y’all in November, I think it’s safe to say that summer is the most fun part of our year! Don’t forget to follow along our #MakingSouthernWeddings hashtag on Instagram to see lots of sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes looks at what it’s like to put together our new issue.

We’re delighted to introduce one of our new Blue Ribbon Vendors, Jessica Bordner Photography! Jessica’s tag line, cinematic photography with Southern charm, is right up our alley, and much like all of us on the SW team, she’s quick to admit that she’s a romantic at heart. We are so excited that Jessica is generously offering an amazing special to Southern Weddings readers: for the first destination wedding booked (200+ miles from South Florida), she’s offering 50% off of her wedding collection! We know y’all will love her sweet personality and beautiful work as much as we do, so if you’re looking for a wedding photographer, don’t hesitate to email her at [email protected] with all the details of your big day to enter!

Take note!

We love hearing about our vendor friends giving back to the community and the world in amazing ways. This styled shoot was put together by Love Gives Way, a network of wedding vendors committed to donating a portion of their proceeds to organizations that fight sex trafficking. Please check them out to learn more about this important cause!

Have a great weekend!

Who else is still swooning over last week’s peek into Erin and Ben’s Mississippi home? I, for one, most definitely am! As you may have gathered from the post, I am a big fan of everything Erin touches, and so when she reached out about Lucky Luxe’s newest offering, At Home, I begged her to let us do a giveaway – and she agreed!

From Erin: When we bought our 1925 craftsman cottage, I did this little portrait of our house inspired by the illustration work of Rebekka Seale and printed the painting on notecards. Since then, friends have asked me to do house notecards for them as well, and I suggested Rebekka but I found that she retired from illustration to pursue the Camellia Fiber Company. I didn’t feel right about taking her idea and running with it, so I reached out to her and with her blessing we’re now picking up where she left off and offering whimsical custom watercolor house portraits on folded notecards.

Aren’t they delightful??

As a longtime fan of both Rebekka and Erin, I couldn’t be happier about this development. If you’re not the type to go for monogrammed stationery, I think these At Home cards are perfect for newlywed correspondence!

Use the Rafflecopter below to enter to win one custom house print and a set of 25 notecards!

Note: Instagram entries from people with private profiles won’t appear, so you might have to change your settings for a week to enter the contest!

We can’t wait to see your homes!

Let’s dive right into it – one of the number one questions we receive from y’all is about ideas for bridal party gifts. You want something personal, meaningful, lovely… and, of course, that fits in the budget whether you have two or ten bridesmaids!
