Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

2014 is in full swing! From welcoming two new interns and a new shop manager, to some big, exciting changes that this year has already brought, it’s been a whirlwind of a week. The first mentions of V7 even popped up–can y’all believe it? 2014, we think you’ll be sweet as pie!

We’re sharing an adorable engagement session by Ashley Revlas Photography on our Facebook page today for Facebook Friday! Inspired by their upcoming destination wedding in Mexico, Kristin and Robert had their engagement pictures taken at an airport, incorporating both “leaving for” and “returning from” Mexico. So fun!

We had a wonderful day this past summer running around Chapel Hill, having our picture taken by Blue Ribbon Vendors, Landon Jacob Photography. You may have seen a few of them in V6 and on Instagram, but you can find lots more here!

Two beautiful features from V6 graced the blog this week, starting with some pretty, feminine inspiration for the many side parties that often accompany a wedding–our Southern Charm shoot! See it here, as well as in our new editorial gallery.

We also shared our celebration of canning–a rich Southern tradition that we find so applicable to love and marriage. See it here.

The gals from the Glow Workshop styled a fabulously shabby chic shoot for their workshop attendees, and we were delighted to share all the pretty details. See it here.

It’s been awhile, and we’re excited to bring back our engaged reader round-ups! Please join us in congratulating these sweet couples here.

We love real weddings!

Hannah and Andy proved that rain on your wedding day doesn’t have to be a bad thing–their Tennessee wedding was so joyful! See it here.

Megan and Aaron planned their wedding around things they love that reflect them as a couple. Bluegrass music, cornhole, and s’mores? We love it all! See it here.

Have y’all been following our posts on The Daily South? Last week, Emily shared the first steps to take after getting engaged. It’s a must-read! Find it here.

Have a great weekend!

Engaged Reader Round-Up

by in Main on

Every time I look at the pictures from when my fiancé proposed, it gives me butterflies all over again! Whether your proposal was photographed or you snapped a teary, joyful iPhone pic after saying “yes,” there’s something about these images that reminds us why we love weddings: we love love! It was such a treat to see sweet proposal stories and pictures pop up in my inbox over the last few weeks, and we’d love for y’all to join us in congratulating these sweet newly-engaged couples!

From top to bottom, big SW hugs and congratulations to Megan, Kelly, and Vanessa!

Via the #SLSouthernWeddings hashtag on Instagram that our friends at Southern Living helped us share, congratulations to (clockwise from top left) Ashleigh, Julie, Katie, and Angela!

Also from Instagram, clockwise from top left, congratulations to Kendal, Nicole, Blakeley, and Samantha!

Newly engaged? I want to hear from you! Send me an email with the subject “I’m engaged!” and a photo of you and your handsome beau after he asked you those famous four words, or Instagram a picture with the hashtag #SLSouthernWeddings!
