Monthly Archives: April 2013

With Emily out of the office this week (on her honeymoon!!), the office has been just a tad bit quieter. Not to mention that our chalkboard wall hasn’t been updated since Emily is the one with the lovely handwriting ’round these parts. However, it has been productive. We’re gearing up for our first V6 shoot next week — yeehaw!!

We started this week off with a celebration! Our dearest Kristin turned 30 over the weekend, which called for a list of 30 things we love about KNW. Send her some love, too!

Y’all know we value photography. Not only are your wedding photos captured memories of the beginning of your life together, but they’re images that you’ll share with your grandchildren and their grandchildren! We thought it was only appropriate that we put together 10 tips for working with your wedding photographer.

We know mason jars get a bad rap sometimes in the wedding world, but we think anyone could love these sweet treats — Ball jar cookies!

Real weddings take the cake!

Maggie + Alec’s blue wedding was electric and romantic! We love how they brought some of the church outside with them. See it here.

Eliza + Brigham’s school-themed love story played out beautifully in their bright red Virginia nuptials. See it here.

Tami + James’ pink Virginia wedding from V5 is memorable for its romantic details, yes, but also for the way those details were inspired by family. See it here and here.

Angela + Tobi’s Charleston wedding was the outcome of an adorable love story and a lot of Southern heart and hospitality to bring the day together. See it here.

Before you head out for the weekend…

Be sure to check out the AMAZING Life Together Webinar, hosted by Liz & Ryan. Our own Editor-in-Chief, Lara Casey and her hubs, Ari tell their love story and the hard work it took to commit to their marriage. See the AMAZING Life Together site for more details and to register for free.

Don’t forget to pop over to our Facebook Friday! Photography By Shea shares one lovely engagement session.

Happy and happy weekend, y’all!

Y’all know Mason jars sometimes get a bad rap in the wedding world (but that’s okay – we still unabashedly love them!). However, I think even canning jar haters will be won over by today’s sweet Southern Spotting: Ball jar sugar cookies!

From the bride, Chelsea:

The theme of our wedding was very rustic and completely DIY. Our tablescapes were compiled from barnwood boxes, burlap squares, and mason jars. When we were thinking of options for our favors, we wanted something that would be consistent with the theme, but a little more unique. While looking on Pinterest I saw a picture of a mason jar cookie. I instantly knew that it was the perfect choice for our wedding favors! The cookies were made by Simple Treats by KT (simpletreatsbykt at yahoo dot com). It is a local, in-home sweet shop that specializes in cookies, cupcakes and party treats. We told them what we wanted and they turned out perfectly!

Thank you so much to Jo Photo for sending this sweet treat our way!

P.S. Have you heard? To celebrate their 100th anniversary, Ball is introducing the new Ball Heritage Mason Jar Collection! The new collection is tinted with the coveted antique blue, and will be available in the pint jar size. They’re currently for sale here and at some Ace Hardware stores!

Jo Photo is a delightful member of our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory!
