Happy Monday, ladies + gents! I know you probably just had breakfast a few hours ago, but I hope you have an appetite, because our next V4 feature is downright delicious! Jose Villa and Lisa Vorce teamed up to create this gorgeous spread featuring every Southerner’s favorite carbohydrate: the biscuit! Let me walk you through a few of their yummy ideas, which imagine even more ways to incorporate the humble biscuit into your wedding day.

Biscuits packaged in a cloth wrap and accompanied by a small jar of favorite (or homemade!) jam are a perfect breakfast treat delivered to guest hotel rooms.

Mini biscuits slid into delicate paper wrapping are a gorgeous favor (they’d look perfect set at each place setting!).

Petite kraft paper bags look darling holding ham biscuits. Position a table full of these beauties at the door of your venue for a midnight snack to go.

On the left: biscuits topped with caviar and chives are an unexpectedly upscale hors d’oeuvres. On the right: a paper bag filled with freshly-baked biscuits and preserves could easily stand in for a wedding weekend welcome bag.

Gold-flecked biscuits?? My stars! We can’t imagine anything prettier. (And yes, the gold flakes are edible!)

On the left: We LOVE this idea — screenprinting Grandma’s famous biscuit recipe onto a cloth bag, then filling it with delicious examples of her baking prowess. On the right: Another variation on the biscuit welcome wagon: kraft box + hot pepper jelly + custom label.

Last but certainly not least, we have these delicate and delightful biscuit sandwiches. Perfect passed at cocktail hour!

Do you love these biscuit ideas as much as we do? Give a hearty thanks to photographer Jose Villa, stylist and planner Lisa Vorce, and paper details guru Wiley Valentine! Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse provided the gorgeous backdrop. And tell me: Will you be incorporating biscuits into your wedding?

I love the idea of having biscuits be part of the welcome bag! Such a cute plan for guest’s breakfast or a late night snack without having an elaborate meal.

My question does not pertain directly to this post, however it is in the magazine and I’m not sure what other way to ask the question. Approximately (5) pages in, there is section of photos across the bottom of the page. There is a photograph in the middle of a girl walking in a field in a wedding gown. She has her hands in the pockets and the dress has a lace upper with a v in the back. I VERY much love the look of the dress from behind and I’m wondering who the designer is so that I might be able to find it and see what the front looks like. Thanks so much for your help!! Love you magazine!!

Though Emily’s Southern Gothic inspiration board was made in honor of Halloween, its dark and muted color palette and slightly eerie quality are the perfect inspiration for adding a bit of drama to the everyday. I couldn’t get the image of old plantation homes and Spanish moss out of my mind as I hunted down these color palette finds. Each reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe and William Faulkner in its own way and has made me love the South even more for it’s dark corners and history.

A. Correspondence looks lovely with the addition of a custom wax seal and builds suspense for the receiver who can’t wait to see what’s inside.

B. Familiar patterns in luxurious colors and textures, like this pillow, remind me of antique settees found in a plantation house’s sitting room.

C. Rustic bird napkin rings will make you want to picnic outside under the Spanish moss.

D. I can’t get over how this BHLDN dress magically combines a dreamy texture with a design that’s reminiscent of the eerie old South.

E. Even a dark stone can brighten up your finger with paired with sterling silver and pave diamonds.

F. Wouldn’t these booties be darling paired with a cape and your handsome fiance? I see engagement session potential!

G. Set your table with some drama. Forgo the china for your housewarming and use these black and gold dinner plates instead.

H. A spindly hall tree makes it easy for you to be hostess in your new place.

I. Like the best decor in old Southern homes, this rug acts as a lush covering for creaky floor boards.

What do you think of our color palette finds?
