Talk about a classic Southern bride! Caitlin stunned in her a-line Priscilla of Boston gown and Hey Lady shoes and her four bridesmaids looked simply elegant in Ann Taylor. Add in the groom’s grandparent’s beautiful home in the background, and you have a crowd-stopper! We have to agree with the bride, who said her favorite detail was the flowers. The knockout bouquet and other floral accents were the work of Roses are Red and the gorgeous affair was captured by Vitalic Photo. Don’t forget to come back and check out Part II, it’s just as beautiful. I promise.
How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. Eight years ago, I went on a family vacation with my best friend and bridesmaid, Alex. Charlie is her older cousin and was also on their family vacation. I instantly had a huge crush on Charlie! We spent the next few years flirting and seeing each other at every family function. Charlie finally came to his senses and we started dating as soon as I graduated high school. It was love at first sight; the week after I met Charlie I told my mom that I was going to marry him and the rest is history!
Describe the proposal. It was simple, a surprise, and all around amazing! I was cooking Charlie’s favorite meal (chicken parmesan) after work and he came home with flowers. He was being extra sweet but I didn’t suspect anything. I was cutting up a cucumber and turned around and Charlie was on one knee with a ring. I was so caught off guard that I actually thought it was a joke until I saw that his hands were shaking. It was really sweet and a perfect night!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Dreamy, Elegant, and Romantic!
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: This question is too hard, I loved everything! My favorite thing was the flowers! I absolutely love peonies and hydrangeas. The centerpieces turned out even more beautiful than I imagined! Charlie’s favorite detail was the dance floor over the pool. He also says his other favorite detail was stealing the show with his wedding vows (I’ll admit it, they were really good and everyone was tearing up).
What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? I knew I wanted to incorporate lace into our wedding. My dress and veil both had lace details. We found a beautiful lace to make belly bands for the invitations. The bridesmaid dresses were black lace and the cake had a lace design. We each had our own signature drink at the cocktail hour. Charlie’s was a John Daly (sweet tea vodka with lemonade) and mine was a Bellini (peach champagne drink).
I absolutely love the understated elegance of her hairpins collection! I would have to choose the Baroque hairpins because my Carolina Herrera gown is ivory with light beige accents, so a hint of gold would go perfectly!
I love the Illissa hair pins. Perfect for a lot or a little glamour. Beautiful work!
I’m currently in the process of looking for veils to match my wedding dress! What a great site! The Etta veil is to die for.
The Priscilla Veil is absolutely to die for! The detial on the bottom of the veil gives it a very classic and elegant which screams which is perfect for my romantic style wedding!
I love a good hairpin or hair flower! I keep catching myself starting at the Lani hair flower–it’s feathery, flowery, and all around fabulous! It turns a romantic look a little bit funkier while still being formal and elegant all at once!

I think the Quinn veil is fit for royalty!
I’m absolutely loving the Cadence hair band! (http://www.laurajayne.com/HairBands&Tiaras.html). It’s just perfect! It’s classic and has just the right amount of sparkle without being too overpowering. It’s demure and soft and has a tiara like quality without actually standing upright like a tiara does. It’s a nod to the princess look for a more modern bride.
It looks like it could also double as a sash as well and I love that it’s so versatile.
I think one of the hair broaches like the Harmony would be perfectly elegant and classic for a royal wedding!
The Quinn is definitely royal! The long flowing veil is classic!

LOVE the teardrop earrings! Have been searching and searching for the perfect amount of bling, not too over the top but stately and sophisticated-these are the ones!!
The cadence hair band screams royalty to me because of the elegant, vintage floral pattern. A Royal,Victorian look that would serve well to make any bride look more like a princess than she already does.
