Winner :: ken + dana design

by in Contests on

Last week, we introduced you to ken + dana design, masters in the art of unique jewelry. The gorgeous Isis engagement band is speckled with diamonds and comes in platinum, 18k gold, and sterling silver. Really, stunning. Here is your chance to feel like a goddess!

We asked readers to “like” ken + dana design on Facebook then choose their favorite design on the ken + dana website. I’ve been reading your entries as they poured in and I am so excited to announce which lucky reader will get the Isis. Congratulations to Allie who gave us this marvelous answer:

I am truly in love with the Aurora Organic Engagement Ring in gold by ken + dana. This genius design combines simplicity and tradition with something elemental and untamed. I am convinced this design has been imprinted in my conscious forever and no other engagement ring will do! This unique piece is a gorgeous take on the traditional engagement ring and to my surprise- incredibly affordable!

Let us know how you enjoy your new Isis ring, Allie!

Well, you already “liked” the ken + dana design Facebook page but if you’re like me, you just can’t get enough of them! Be sure to check out the ken + dana design blog for more jewelry inspiration and head on over to their Twitter (@kenanddana).

Come back soon for some more stellar giveaways!

I know poms have been around the block a time or two, but I was just emailing with a reader the other day who loved the look but didn’t know how to replicate it. Handmade Find to the rescue!

If you’d like to make your own poms, check out Martha’s tutorial — the original and the best.

If you are more of a Buy-It-Yourself rather than a Do-It-Yourself bride (no shame!), I’ve got a few resources for you, too. I’ve personally ordered from PomLove before, and was very pleased with their prices and service. I’ve also heard good things about Orangekisses, another Etsy shop.

Once you’ve got your poms in hand, they’ll only need a little fluffing love before looking as gorgeous as the ones at this Atlanta ceremony:

I also think this use for poms is too cute! How perfect would this be for a bridal shower?

See the how-to for this project on the Fiskars website!

Tell me: did you use poms in your wedding?

Though an impending thunderstorm turned Ali + Mook’s Florida nuptials into a swift four-minute ceremony, the newlyweds had no trouble drawing out their elegant Kampong Gardens reception into an all-night affair. Lucky for us – and especially for you, dear reader – A + M’s speedy “I do” didn’t prevent Belathée Photography from snapping every last gorgeous detail. Cynthia Seaman of Lasso the Moon not only planned the rose-gold affair but also baked the couple’s chic coconut cake. After seeing the lush peony blooms (Emily’s favorite!), it’s no surprise the statuesque bride insisted florist Kathryn Parrish was her favorite vendor.

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? As soon as the ceremony began at our beautiful garden venue, the sky turned black, the wind started to blow and it started to drizzle. I thought it was going to pour so I Instinctively asked the judge to fast forward and get to the part about the ring exchange. The guests started laughing hysterically, and our ceremony ended up being four minutes long. It was short and sweet, and a funny start to a great evening.
Did you write your own vows? If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line? We exchanged traditional vows.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? We’re enjoying life in Palm Beach and the birth of our baby boy this April.

Hi Juliet! Ali’s necklace came from J. Crew Bridal. Hope that helps!
