Weekly Round-Up

Happy Friday, my dears! At the end of a busy week, it always makes me feel better to look back on everything we’ve posted. Beautiful images and Saturday on the horizon is a guaranteed mood-booster. If you’re a fan of great photography and Saturdays, too, then I think we’ll get along splendidly!

This week, Emily has us craving sunny beaches and salty breezes with her Southern Spotting. A modern beach ceremony with bits of Southern details caught her eye. We have to say, we love the eye candy from Key West, too!

Marissa has got you covered from morning until night (and a few days before that too!) with Southern style tips for your wedding week. Whether you’re running some last minute errands and having lunch with your bridesmaids or preparing to walk down the aisle, we have some style suggestions you’re sure to love! Head to the posts here and here to check everything out.

Whitney brings us a perfectly Southern giveaway this week. Born and bred under the Mason-Dixon line, High Cotton Ties features our favorite of Southern fabrics. Whether you’re going monogrammed, seersucker, gingham or madras, they’re sure to meet your expectations! You could win a monogrammed cummerbund set if you head over to the original post and leave a comment!

Tara + Steve’s Charleston wedding gave us a breath of fresh air. Their coral and pink wedding was perfectly sweet and Southern. See it here and here.

Now for some announcements:

Forever Photography is giving away a free photo session! Become a fan of them on Facebook, have your friends vote for you, and you could win! The contest ends on May 9, so gather up your family and friends for the chance to win! Read more details on their blog.

Serendipity Bridal in Austin, Texas is having a sample sale! Gowns from Monique Lhuillier Bliss, Lazaro, Amsale, Marisa, Paloma Blanca, Watters, and WTOO are marked down. Check out their blog for more details.

I can’t leave y’all without another taste of summer. It is right around the bend! Take a look at this beach shots of Jeni + Nate. Thanks to Brooke Images for sharing!

Have a wonderful weekend and let us know if you do anything marvelous!

Sometimes the right feature just falls into your — er, my — lap at the right time. Such was the case with this lovely shoot, sent to me by Libelle Photography, an Atlanta-based studio. Fresh, green grass, gilded eggs, soft pastels — how perfect for a Southern spring! And especially for this week, since Easter in the South is such a beautiful time of year for a wedding. Annika and Anna, the photographers behind Libelle, crafted most of the handmade details themselves, and want to encourage readers to try the same for their weddings. We couldn’t agree more!

Happy Easter, ladies + gents!

  7. avatar Southern Inspiration Shoot :: Sweet as Honey « Southern Weddings Magazine reply

[…] Just like last week, we’ve got another sweet Southern inspiration shoot to share! This one is all about honey (which reminded me of this April’s Southern Bride, Kelly, and her adorable favor idea!). Bethany Dean of Glass Jar Photography brought the honey-colored inspiration board of Proper Measures to life with hair help from Suzanne Kantmann and accessories from some of our favorite discount chains (Forever 21, anyone?). The neatest part about this shoot? It took place on the same local honey farm where the featured honey was made! Sweet, indeed. Save Facebook it Tweet it […]

Pops of pink and coral against the greenery at the Daniel Island Club make this Southern reception a breath of fresh summery air. Thumbs up to Peacock Events who planned this wedding! I’m a big fan of the mason jars, filled with a mix of flowers styled by Timeless Designs, and I’m sure you’ll be swooning, too, when you see the elegant square-tiered wedding cake with a lush pile of blooms on top. Though we don’t know a lot about this cute couple, we do know they have great taste! The night ended with a petal toss as the newlyweds made their getaway. I like to imagine their cute basset hound rode away with them.
