12 Days Till V3 Arrives!

by in News on

Gals, we just cannot wait for you to see our new cover.  Srsly.  It is bright and beautiful, and equally as stunning as V2 if we do say so ourselves.  Which we just did.

Speaking of V2, we thought we’d take a little trip down memory lane for those of us who are just joining us.  (Old-timers, bear with us.  Or move on to the next post!).

This stunning lady is Adair:

She came to use from Elite Model Management.  She ate red velvet cake (from Sweet Sensations!) and pizza during the shoot and was generally awesome.  She also donned a succession of stunning gowns from Bridals by Lori.

Superstar (really) photographer Jeremy Cowart was the mastermind behind these images.  Joy Thigpen, stylist extraordaire, was his right-hand lady.  That jaunty little hairdo?  All the work of Scoobie West, who we liked so much Katharine asked him up to Boston for her wedding.

All of these players descended upon Serenbe, a new-urban community just outside Atlanta, and the masterpiece below was the result.  Want more?  Check out more detailed posts here and here and here.

Think you can hold on a few more days to see our new cover?!

Today is the first day of fall, and we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the season of crunchy leaves and brisk breezes than with this snuggly shoot from Gina Zeidler!  Lacey and Jason celebrated their fourh anniversary in part with this shoot, and Gina really made it something special for them with the addition of her subtle styling skills.  She was going for a deep, intimate, reflective vibe, and though I think she nailed it, there’s also plenty of fun to be had!  (Stuffing each other’s faces with marshmallows?  Yes, please!  Almost as good as the first bite of cake on a wedding day.)  Read on for a few more details.  And happy fall!

Describe a date you went on that you’ll never forget: Jason surprised me with a special weekend to Duluth.  I had never been there before and it was the best weekend to go, in October when all of the colors of the trees were changing.

What have you learned most about marriage in the last four years?  Communication and compromise are so, so important!

What advice would you give to someone planning her wedding?  I would tell her to remember that the wedding is about your husband and you, and not all about your guests.  Don’t forget to have fun and just relax!  Also, the most important takeaway is a wonderful photographer and a wonderful videographer, because that is what you are going to have years from your weding day.

What’s next for you as a couple?  A new addition to our family!  We have a three-year-old, Olivia Faith, and our second daughter, Lylah Hope, will be here in September.

Congratulations, Jason and Lacey!  Good luck with your new baby girl!

Okay, now it’s official: this wedding is to awesome for a Wednesday!  We love that the bride + groom, in addition to creating some truly stunning portraits with Forever Photography, had fun with their big day.  Crowns, scepters and mustache props?  Awe-someMichelle’s Patisserie designed a simple, effortlessly chic four-tier cake, while Visual Lyrics styled low arrangements of rustic blooms for the outdoor celebration.  Not ready for the fun to end?  Take a peek at Forever Photography’s post on Christina + Mitch’s day!

Describe your flowers: We chose an unusual color palette for the wedding: black, silver and taupe. I wanted flowers that went with this theme. My bouquet had black succulents, taupe roses, schwartz calla lilies, monkey tails, silver dusty miller, stephanotis with a black bead, a gray cameo broach and gray ribbon. Some of the tables had 5 unique shaped vases with flowers of different heights and textures (white veronica, taupe roses, monkey tails, scabiosa pods and bunny tails). The other tables had white birch boxes with different flower textures in silver protea, white agapanthus, black succulents, monkey tails and ivory amaranths. There were 2 large wooden square cocktail tables inside which had bubble bowls with silver protea, black succulents and ivory hanging amaranths.
Describe your wedding cake:
It was a 4-tiered white cake. All the tiers were a different sizes and heights. The cake was very smooth and had a black ribbon on each tier. It also had a spun sugar flower that matched the belt on my dress. It was almond cream and classic vanilla.
What was the most memorable moment about your wedding day?
My most memorable moment of the day was our first look. I wouldn’t tell him anything about my dress or my look. He had no idea why we chose black, silver and taupe as the wedding colors. I was so nervous walking out to see him. He turned around and we both got teary (I cried). It was such a great moment and the pictures of it are priceless. I cried when I saw them. It was so great seeing each other beforehand. I loved it because we got to spend more time together. We had so much fun taking silly pictures with our bridal party after that.
Did you write your own vows?
We combined several non-traditional vows and made our own.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future?
Babies! And having a family together.

What's not to love? The crown scepter and mustache props make for some fun pic's. The cake has a great stream line clean look and blends perfectly with the brides dress.
