Well, that about wraps up another week, ladies and gents!  To cap things off, we wanted to take a moment and introduce you to a few of our sponsors.  We couldn’t do what we do without them, and even more than that, we really believe in their work and want to share it with you.  We hope you’ll take a moment to visit their sites, say hello, and send them a little SW love!

First we have Wedding Window.  Wedding Window, as I’m sure most of you know, is a purveyor of fabulous, customized wedding websites.  Their super-nice team recently launched several new features, giving couples even more options when piecing together their sites.  Our favorite is the ability to replace the “theme” images on every single page by uploading images of your choice.  See more here!

Happily Ever AfterWords is one of our favorite sponsors because their product captures so much of what a wedding is about: the love of the family and friends that surround you on W-day, and that will be a part of your life in the years to come.  From their site: “The keepsake box contains cards and envelopes labeled with the anniversary years 1 through 50.  Given to friends and loved ones at any event surrounding the wedding ceremony, each piece of this fine stationery becomes a place for their thoughts — preserving a special written message to be kept in the box and read by a couple on the anniversary year indicated.”  I don’t know about y’all, but I LOVE this idea!  It kind of makes me tear up just thinking about opening one of these cards on my 50th wedding anniversary…  See more here!

Next, we have a trio of fabulous photographers.  Caroline Nicole is based in Melbourne, Florida.  She’s great at capturing natural moments as they unfold, and man, do her colors pop!  Check out her site here and her blog here.

David and Alana, the husband and wife team behind ABJ Photography, are two of the nicest people you’ll meet.  I love that they are committed to documenting the entire wedding day, from the ladies getting ready until the last sparkler is extinguished (no limited packages for them!).  I also love that they shoot every wedding together.  A built in “second shooter” — what could be better?  They’re based in Atlanta, and I think their work speaks for itself.  You can check out their site here and their blog here!

Besides having an awesome name (Vanderwall?  Yes, please!), Evan Vanderwall is a great photographer.  His background in fashion photography results in stunning, interesting, and in-the-moment images from every wedding he shoots.  Evan is based in Dallas but would be happy (thrilled, really!) to travel the world to document your big day.  You can check out his site here and his blog here!  P.S. I love this recent beach cruiser session he posted.  Adorable!

One more huge thanks to all of our sponsors!  Vendors, if you’re interested in getting in on the game, please feel free to email Katharine for a new media kit.  She responds well to candy.

How did Sarah + Ryan know I love square reception tables?  Cause I do… a lot, especially when decorated by Noveau Flowers + photographed by Paul Johnson Photography.  S + R celebrated their marriage at The Village Green where the highlight undoubted was their all-white Confections on the Coast wedding cake and chocolate Dessert Designs groom’s cake.  Want to see more?  Take a peek at Paul + Mechael’s blog post here.  I hope you all have a great + sunny weekend, wherever you are.

What was Southern about your wedding? Since our wedding was on the beach, I wanted the guys to wear light khaki suits with light blue and white seersucker shirts.  They wore soft green ties with a light blue and white paisley.
Describe your wedding flowers: I carried an elegant bouquet of white peonies hand-tied in a textured aqua fabric that matched the bridesmaids dresses.  My Starfish Pin (something old) was pinned to the bouquet.  The girls’ bouquets were simple arrangements of white ranunculus, dahlias, viburnum, freesia and fern curls tied in pool blue ribbon.  My flower girl carried one single white peony with pool blue ribbon streamers.
Describe your wedding cake:  The wedding cake was a beautifully-detailed three-tiered confection with white-on-white sugar flowers and a lace pattern inspired by an Oscar de la Renta wedding dress I loved.  The groom’s cake was a two-tiered chocolate-on-chocolate cake with the same Oscar de la Renta inspired detailing.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?
The ceremony.  Looking around at all of the family and friends who love you and support you is a really overwhelming feeling.
Did you write your own vows?  If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line?  We didn’t write our own vows, but we didn’t say traditional vows, either.  Our vows went like this: I, Sarah, take you, Ryan, to be my husband, my friend, my love, and my lifelong companion; to share my life with yours; to build our dreams together, while allowing you to grow with your dreams; to support you through times of trouble, and rejoice with you in times of happiness; to treat you with respect, love and loyalty through all the trials and triumphs of our lives together; to grow with you in love, and to be faithful to you alone, as long as we both shall live.

Congratulations, Sarah + Ryan!  We wish you a lifetime of laughs and happy memories.

Amazing. All the class of a true southern wedding! The fresh, green centerpieces and bamboo placemats were neutral, refreshing, and beautiful. I also loved the fresh white linens with an outdoor "lounge". So very lovely!

I generally don’t like to post comments on larger wedding website because I feel that planners/photographers/wedding websites are making it more about the visual "image" of a wedding versus what a wedding ceremony/celebration really is. That being said, this is incredibly beautiful. It’s what my wedding would have looked like if I’d had an extra $10K laying around! Same color palette and simple elegance. Thanks for sharing.

Sarah looks so happy to be getting married in these pictures from Paul + Mecheal Johnson that I have to wonder: is it the perfectly picturesque location (Carillon Beach) and sunny day or just the handsome groom waiting for her at the end of the aisle?  (I’m sure that gorgeous gown the barefoot bride wore for her big day didn’t hurt either…) Regardless, Sarah + Ryan’s oceanfront ceremony, replete with ladies in aqua-colored Melissa Sweet frocks and gents in seersucker, has us hardcore swooning for summer.  Come back for a second swoon session later on, will ‘ya?

How did the two of you meet?  Tell us your story.  It was the summer of 2006.   Ryan and I were working in different design firms in Cambridge, MA. One afternoon, my friend, Iliya, asked if I wanted to go to an architecture league softball game after work.  I had never been to a league softball game, but decided to go.  The team met at their local pub, “The Cellar” for a beer before heading to the field, where I was briefly introduced to Ryan.  A few minutes later, Ryan left to bring the bats and balls to the field. As he left, I looked down and noticed that he had on black dress socks with his baseball uniform, which I found rather unusual, but charming.  Later, at the game, we started talking, but both thought the other was dating the friend we came with.  It wasn’t until a week later that we met again at an Industry Party held at the Fish Pier in Boston’s Seaport District.  The party was packed with people, but somehow Ryan found me in the crowd, and we’ve been together ever since…
Describe the proposal.
Ryan proposed while vacationing with our families at the Atlantis in the Bahamas.  On Friday, the whole family went out for dinner together.  Afterwards, Ryan asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach.  As we made our way to the beach, I could sense that Ryan was nervous, but I figured it was because a storm was brewing on the horizon.  As we walked along together in the sand, I broke hands from Ryan for a second to brush the hair from my face.  When I went back for his hand, I turned to find him on one knee with the ring in his fingers.  I was so surprised I could barely breathe. He told me all the reasons he loved me and ended with a simple, “Will you Marry Me?” I said, “Yes!” and started to cry.  We kissed and shortly after made our way to the Sea Glass Bar at the Cove to celebrate with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries.
Three adjectives that describe the day are:
Elegant, light and natural.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was:
The table cards.  I had Val Cole hand calligraph them here in Nashville.  Each card had a design from our invitation, which indicated what they ordered.  (Beef, Fish, Chicken, Vegetable) They were a beautiful final touch to the tables.  She also did some hand-calligraphed table numbers, which were beautiful as well.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress:
Over my birthday in September, I flew to New York for the long weekend.  My best friend (and bridesmaid), Karen, and I visited a couple high-end bridal salons and found several contenders.  The second day of dress shopping, we woke up early for the first appointment of the day at the Bridal Garden.  We found a beautiful silk taffeta dress with a crinkle chiffon empire waist.  Around the empire waist was a silk taffeta sash that tied in a bow in the back.  The dress was light-weight, which was key for a beach wedding, and simply elegant.  The dress was perfect!
