Google+ Real D.C. Wedding: Emily + Charlie, Part II - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

I always get a little extra excited when we feature an upscale big city wedding, and am especially pleased we get to share an authentic Washington, D.C. fete with y’all!  (Just a hop, skip and a jump from my native Virginia!).  After their intimate outdoor ceremony at the Hay Adams, Emily + Charlie celebrated with a chic pink-infused reception at the Meridian House.  I’m always amazed what some expertly-coordinated lighting can do for a party space, and have to say that this couple nailed it with their warm rose-colored glow.  Amaryllis, Inc. gave Emily + Charlie’s traditional black-tie bash a modern edge with crystal + hydrangea centerpieces and the couple’s asymmetrical ribbon-topped + spotted confection took the bash a step farther.   My favorite detail, though?  The bride’s flirty frock!  More, you say?  No problem!  Visit Jeff Greenough’s blog post here!

What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding?  We had a great time planning the wedding thanks to Aimee’s and Danielle’s assistance.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?  The dance party was the highlight of the day.  We opted for a DJ (done well) over a band – always makes for a better party, assuming you have the right DJ, which we did.  After the fact, it was great to hear how much fun everyone had and how much they liked the music.
What’s next for you as a couple?  What are you looking forward to in the future?
Charlie and I hope to spend a year or so enjoying each other and traveling before starting a family.

Congratulations, Emily + Charlie!  Thank you for sharing your incredible wedding with us.
