Thanksgiving beckons people to take a moment to reflect and give thanks. So much to be happy about! I cannot wait until tomorrow when each member of my family will gather around the turkey (yummy!) and share what they are thankful for.
For our Smitten Sticks giveaway, we asked the question ‘What makes you happy?’ and it was delightful to read through your responses. As I read about the little things that put a smile on your face, I couldn’t seem to wipe the smile off of mine!
Here are some of my favs from the adorable answers y’all sent in:
~Most simply: LOVE! [either being gifted w/ love, witnessing love or giving love]
~Being at home as the sun is setting, with my hubby by my side and the chickens playing in the yard.
~Unbridled love and optimism from family and friends. Times may be hard… but we still have love, laughs and each other. What could make me happier?! hmm.. maybe having the new issue of Southern Weddings in my hands tonight! But then I may just burst from a happy overdose! ;)
~my cat, oliver, is super talkative. when i walk in the door, all he wants is to jump in my lap and purr at me. he understands i don’t always feel like talking. he always makes me smile :)
~That little moment every morning when hear my three year old daughter wake up and I turn around and she’s stumbling towards me.. all fluffy headed and puffy faced, with her arms out ready for me to swoop her up. She doesn’t say a word, she’s all grins. I pick her up, she curls into me, and we just stand there in the kitchen swaying back and forth. Thats our time. And that’s the time that makes me smile most.
~Southern Weddings daily blog, of course. I love all the unique ideas I read about daily. It is fun to see how everyone incorporates their personalities into all the details of their wedding. I look forward to pulling up the daily blog at work everyday. It puts a smile on my face when the work day gets hectic and the wedding planning seems overwhelming! (Thanks!)
~Other people smiling make me very happy! whether it be from love, the Lord, or something funny and awkward, i love happy people.
