Google+ Real Wedding: Jenni + Cade, Part II - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

Jennie + Cade treated their wedding guests to a fantastic downtown celebration.  The roof top celebration took place at Fort Worth’s {Reata Restaurant}.  We love the cupcake tower and the beautiful shots of Jenni + Cade having a splendid time.  Thanks again to photographer, {Stacy Reeves} for sharing this wedding with us and be sure to check out her post on the wedding on her {Blog}.

What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? The guest list.
Were there any special family traditions you included in the wedding? Cade’s uncle, Jim, wrote and performed our ceremony. He included quotes from the New and Old Testament and Kahlil Gibran.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? The “I Do’s!”
Scariest moment? The day before the wedding, Cade’s Uncle, Cade and I went to the Rose Garden for a final viewing of the setting. The wind was blowing so hard that we could not hear one another and a microphone made it worse. Thankfully, the wind died down the next day.
Funniest moment? My aunts and cousins have a tradition that includes breaking into the bride and groom’s room and “wrapping” it for good luck. I’ve been a part of it for every other family wedding, and Cade has been initiated into it as well. Since we knew they would attempt it, we didn’t tell anyone where we were staying, which was at a hotel close to the reception. Nevertheless, after the ceremony and before the reception, they broke into our home to begin the wrapping. Our house alarm was triggered, and while we were taking photos, the alarm company began calling both of us. During the break-in, my aunt unintentionally called my mom and the whole situation was recorded on her voice mail. On the recording, the alarm is sounding, my aunts are screaming, and my cousin yells “Too late! We’re committed now! GO!”. Thankfully, the police did not arrive at our house and my family eventually returned to the reception. I still find rice around our bedroom.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Wonderful, exciting, perfect!
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Keep it meaningful for the two of you. You can’t make everyone else happy, and don’t get wrapped up in the details to the extent that you can’t enjoy your day. Plan it how you want it, and whatever happens, happens. But at the end of the day if you are married it will be a success.
Best advice or most memorable comment someone made to you during the wedding celebration. “Its an open bar?!?!”
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Home-improvement projects, work, travel, and being great puppy-parents.
Any DIY items? Cupcakes, Decorations, Wedding Ceremony, Invitations (Parents did them)
