What attracted me to my husband was: Jason has the sweetest smile, the jolliest laugh and the kindest heart I ever met. I just love him so.
What attracted me to my wife was: Katrina’s gorgeous green eyes, easy smile and peculiar laugh/sigh combo did it for me. Also, her love of music and enthusiastic take on life in general.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Definitely the seaside setting on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with a lighthouse and beautiful California sunset as the backdrop…you don’t need much else!
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day? Katrina: Seeing Jason for the first time was surreal. I was so nervous right before the ceremony started – I really thought I might pass out! But when I saw him standing there at the altar, I felt truly blessed. Jason: Standing at the altar, watching my beautiful bride come into view as the sun was setting.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: All our family and friends being there. And the fun booth that our photographers set up for us – awesome.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Katrina: Heartwarming. Joyful. Fun! Jason: Nervous. Blissful. Enamored.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? 1) Eat a big meal the night before since you probably won’t get a chance to eat much at the reception. (And double check that your caterer is packing up food for you to go (if you want it) – we ended up having to stop for pizza on our way to the hotel.) 2) We left for our honeymoon two days after the wedding, instead of the very next day. We were so happy to have a day at home to just relax and sleep and play with our dog – before heading out of town.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Just enjoying our time together and pursuing the American dream, of course!
