This week we have another fabulous color palette post from Gia of {betsywhite Stationery}. This weeks inspiration actually came from one of Gia’s readers on her Flights of Fancy blog. We absolutely love the color combination Katie chose for her wedding and with these amazing inspirational images Gia put together this will make a spectacular wedding! Make sure to check out Gia’s color palette posts each week and if you have missed any here are all her past posts: I, II, III, IV, V and VI for more wedding inspiration!

From Gia: Today’s palette was actually inspired by Katie, one of our readers who wrote me to say that she has chosen mint green and coral for her wedding palette but is having a hard time finding inspiration images featuring that particular combination. Well Katie, I hope this helps!

The bride and bridesmaids: Flowers in shades of light green would look quite pretty against coral bridesmaid dresses. To add a little color to the bride’s ensemble (without being too distracting), the bride’s bouquet could incorporate the same colors but in slightly paler shades. For a little punch of fun, unexpected color, the bride could wear coral colored shoes.
The groom and groomsmen: Tan or khaki suits would work well with this combination. The groomsmen could wear coral colored ties (to coordinate with the bridesmaid dresses) while the groom wears a mint tie with a single ivory bloom for the boutonniere.
Accents and Details: Vintage jadite bowls and vases would make wonderful vessels for floral centerpieces. Pale green succulents in terra cotta pots would also be a great alternative for a more casual/modern aesthetic.

I am going with Brown Champagne and Coral for my color pallette. I am having a hard time finding inspiration with my colors. The Lime Green and Coral pictures were really nice but still different than I have imagined. Any input?

Our first ever New Zealand wedding!  That’s right, New Zealand.  The second we saw this wedding photographed by South Carolina photographer {Tracy Turpen}, we knew you would love it. The celebration took place at {Karaka Point Vineyard}. The vineyard was perfect for Kate + Matt who were going for a rustic, natural feel for their wedding.  The lovely flowers were created by {Cherrywood Florist}. Kate’s stunning gown came from {Jenny’s Bridal Studio} and the bridesmaids wore {Nadia Coulture}.  To see more of this joyous wedding check out Tracy Turpen Photography {Blog}. How fabulous are these details!?  My favorite shot…. Kate and Matt in the rowboat… dreamy!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story… In the summer holidays while staying at a mutual friends beach house.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Outdoors, rustic, natural surroundings.
Favorite design element of your big day: All in one place, flowing and enjoyable for the people
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: Searched the internet for designs, made appointments at the places with designs that I liked. My wedding frock came from the first shop I visited and it was the first dress I tried on.
Describe your wedding flowers: White country styled roses with green succulents with willow twisted in a loop framing around the flowers.
Describe your wedding cake: Three tired round cake, the middle chocolate mud cake the other tiers fruit cake. Ivory icing, white flowers with twisted willow and green ribbon in keeping with the bridal flowers.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: There was no favorite detail but the photos captured the important details of the day.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Fabulous, distinctive, intimate.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Personalize your day to represent the Bride and Groom.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Owing our own home and having a family.

Congratulations to Kate + Matt.  We wish you a lifetime of joy and love!

I love the parasols the girls are holding and the beautiful fountain outside the lodge. Of course my favorite photos are the ones of the bride and groom. You can tell they had an amazing photographer.

Monday Memo… from Lara C

by in News on

Hey y’all! I’m writing this from my second home– Raleigh Durham International Airport. If you follow me on Twitter you know I’ve been travelling non-stop for the last 3 weeks. (and I’ve been sooo busy I haven’t had a chance to really blog my travels yet. Detailed posts with pics coming soon…) I’ve gone from RDU to Pensacola for our Social Media Workshop; Atlanta to film a segment for Get Married TV, meet with Rebecca from the Bridalbar ATL which was so exciting (cant wait for their grand opening soon!) and I was so honored that Studiowed threw a fabulous cocktail party for me in their stunning new space; Austin for my best friend’s wedding; Los Angeles for some exciting meetings and a photo shoot with Jory Cordy (highlight of my trip– it was a perfect LA day at the beach); Indianapolis for Eventology (completely AMAZING… so many details to come on my time in Indy) and here I am headed to Watercolor for our first Fall/Winter print edition shoot. Next week: Birmingham to speak at the A Bryan Photo Workshop which I am beyond excited about. Through all my travels, I have to say a huge thank you to Kirstin, Laura, Katie and Lindsey for keeping things running smoothly. What would I do without these ladies? I miss them so much when I’m gone. Soon enough though, we’ll be (temporarily) moving our office to the Gulf Coast for wedding season. Lots of fun to come! OK, time to board… have a great week y’all and stay tuned to Twitter for Watercolor shoot updates. xo
