Sometimes colors help inspire a wedding theme, sometimes it’s a couple’s hobbies or passions, sometimes it’s all about how they met or where they met… and sometimes, all it takes is a dress to set the tone for a wedding. I’ve heard delicious stories about brides using lace from their mom’s or grandma’s wedding gowns to embellish their own with, and many planners and event designers take that notion and run with it… that lace pattern becomes a muse for cake design, invitations, table top design and even inspiration for aisle runners. Even if you haven’t got 50 year old lace from grannie’s dress, Lace details can add a whimsical and pretty touch to your big day. Here are a few ways to incorporate lace details to your wedding design!

Top Row: Tiers of cupcakes get dressed up with lace-pattern wraps, DIY lace clutches make sweet gifts for bridesmaids, and a peak-a-boo lace-pattern petticoat make a flower girl’s dress extra special {all via Martha Stewart Weddings}. Second Row: Eyelet ribbons trim a pretty escort card display, two cakes – two lace patterns: a classic lace pattern on a classic three-tier topped with a sugar-gardenia and tiers of various eyelet patterns make one adorable cake! {all via Martha Stewart Weddings}. A place setting with lace wrapped silverware adds a nice touch to any table {via Brides.com} Third Row: Lace gowns never go out of style, take for instance this gorgeous number from Claire Pettibone, and lace-inspired pottery and china adds stylish chic to a cake display {via Brides.com}. Bottom Row: Walk down the aisle on a divine lace runner {via InStyle Weddings} and send out pretty lace-letterpress invitations by Dauphine Press.

Until Next Wednesday! Xoxo, Wanwisa
