Monthly Archives: February 2009

In honor of February and all the love surrounding this month, we decided it was about time we teamed up with {Blurb}. Blurb is the perfect online shop for making personalized gift books for the ones you love. With the easy uploading photo process and a million different layouts to chose from, Blurb is a fun way to create an unlimited amount of books for any reason. We asked readers to email us a photo that showed true love. With five book credits to giveaway to our readers, we had emails flying in. All of the photos were amazing, and we loved getting glimpses of everyone’s loved ones, but these five winners caught our attention.

  1. Attached is a picture of my idea of what defines true love. It is a photo of myself and my fiancé, taken when we first started dating almost 14 years ago in high school. We’re looking at each other with that “first love” look, but it is true love also, because we’ll be married this August. So to me, the photo represents persistence, commitment, and true love. ~ Chandra
  2. I’m attaching a photo from an engagement session that a friend of mine, Kylene Gay (from Forever Photography) did in London, England in October of 2008. Kylene was able to capture our personalities and our absolutely pure & true love and when I saw this contest, I just knew that I had to share this photo with you. I love this photo because it shows how I feel when I’m with Dave — like nothing else matters. Time standing completely still and living in the moment with him. ~ Allison Photo by {Forever Photography}
  3. During our engagement session, Toby (the dog swimming around us) started getting overheated and when we tried to get him into the water to cool off- I fell in. Clay attempted to help me out and he fell in, too. It was really hard to pick one picture out of that series that stands out more than the other, but this one definitely does the trick for me. I think you can see how much fun we have together and how in love we really are. I probably should have been upset over what happened, but we had so much fun together that it really didn’t matter. Our pictures turned out amazing, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, because it shows us in our true form. ~ Katy Photo by {Erin Hession}
  4. I am sending in a photo of my Dad and I at my wedding last year. My Dad is the cutest little Asian man you will ever meet! He is so incredibly sweet, and he has a heart of gold! Growing up with 8 kids in the family and going through rough financial situations, my Dad would sometimes have to give up his own dinner so that we kids could eat! Even though I absolutely love my adorable-sweet-handsome-charming husband more than anything, there is something about a parent’s unconditional love for their child and a child’s grateful love for their parents that cannot be replaced! So that is my definition of true love! And hopefully this image will show the love that I have for my father and gratitude for being so wonderful to me all 24 years of my life! I would love to win this contest and design an awesome Blurb wedding photo book! ~ Dana  Photo by {Mark Eric Photography}
  5. When it came to picking out a picture, I had no problem. The picture I am sending in to you represents true love to me in so many ways. It was taken by our photographer as I was saying my vows to my (now) husband. As you can imagine, it’s such an overwhelming and exciting feeling since it’s one of THE moments in her life that every girl looks forward to. Needless to say, I started to tear up, and Chris reached out to wipe away my tears. It was just such a moving moment, not only for us, but for all of our guests that were in attendance. Our friends and family told us that they were able to hold it together, until that point. That’s just how Chris (my husband) is, compassionate and so full of love for me that I still cannot wrap my arms around it. The other reason that this photo represents true love to me is because of the lit candle (near the bottom of my veil with a raspberry ribbon around it) sitting on the railing in front of the first row of pews. You see, three months before our wedding, my Daddy passed away suddenly from a pulmonary embolism. I am an only child and both my mom’s life and mine came to a crashing halt. I struggled for a long time how to go about honoring my Daddy on our wedding day, a day he was so looking forward to. I came up with the idea of a “remembrance candle” that had three wicks. Two of the wicks stood for our respective sets of grandparents that had passed on previously. The third wick represented my Daddy. Throughout the ceremony, it served as a constant reminder that he was present on the day that his little girl married the perfect man. Can’t you see why I love this photo so much, and why it serves as a constant reminder of the true loves in my life? It contains my loving husband, our closest friends, and my Mom…I couldn’t ask for more. ~ Jessica Lynn  Photography by {Nicole Green}
