Win:  A $50 gift card to {beau-coup’s} online store

Contest: With this first blast of winter weather and, after perusing {beau-coup’s winter wedding favors}, I am inspired to do a winter weather contest.  Lately, all I hear are complaints about the chilly weather, but I want to hear about what you absolutely adore about this time of year and how you plan to make the most of it!  Think tea time under a cozy down comforter or knitting in a rocking chair.  Ahh, so relaxing!

Contest ends Friday, December 10th at midnight!  Good luck!

My favorite part of winter is getting to the snow on a bluebird powder day, strapping on my snowshoes with my snowboard in my backpack, hiking up and then boarding down. There is no better day than when you earn your turns!

Living in Southern CA, we sometimes miss the entire winter season. The moment it get’s slightly chilly, I love busting out the pea coats and cute jackets I wait all year to wear. My favorite thing about winter is definitely layering up with chunky knit scarves and snuggling on the couch with a good cup of Mexican Hot Chocolate! YUM!

  3. avatar 2babc reply

I love the snow! It’s rare here in my neck of East Tennessee, but I’m hoping for one glorious snow day to drag my fiance out for our engagement pictures! There’s something so romantic about a kiss in a snow-covered field with the fat white flakes falling all around. Swoon!

  4. avatar Morgan Mills reply

I absolutely adore the winter! You get to wear fun scarfs, gloves, & hats and have a wonderful excuse to drink tall white mocha’s everyday :) During this time of year one of my favorite family traditions is turing off all the lights in our house except for our Christmas Tree, making hot chocolate, and watching a Christmas movie as a family!

  5. avatar Amber reply

The chill in the air this time of year makes for the best nights sleep. I adore having it be just a bit cold in the house so my special guy will snuggle up close, all night long.

  6. avatar LeRae reply

We get plenty of snow in my area! My fiance is a teacher and gets lots of snow days so he spends them searching for honeymoon destinations. When I get home from work we get to cuddle up and go over his "research" for the day!

  7. avatar Keri reply

Winter is a new experience for me, I’m originally from Florida. But on a cold Virginia evening, my fiance and I love to stay in, cook comfort food, and end the night with hot chocolate (extra marshmellows) and a movie in our bed.

  8. avatar Rachel reply

Winter is a wonderful season! My favorite part is spending time with family and friends, but I also love rosy cheeks, puppy tracks in the snow, cashmere blankets, and getting holiday cards in the mail!

  9. avatar JoVonn reply

The best part of this time of year is being able to wear cute boots and pea coats. There are so many wonderful fashions out and being a southern girl in Atlanta, I don’t get to wear them for an extended amount of time so I make the most of it when I can.

  10. avatar Emie Mullins reply

My fiancee and I moved into our first home together this past year and we love coming home from work, eating stew that’s been cooking in our newly purchased crock pot all day, turning on the fireplace and cuddling up on the sofa with our first rescued puppy named Tucker. :) There is also something about the smell of the air this time of year that just puts a big smile on my face! AND what’s not to love about Christmas decorating? I’ve spent the past few weekends decorating the house the way I remember doing it as a little girl with my mom. Lastly, I love baking this time of year! My favorite recipe, Spicy Oatmeal Cookies, just make the whole house smell like Christmas!Cheers!

  11. avatar Cat H reply

i LOVE throwing an extra duvet on the bed and snuggling under (what seems like) 3ft of warmth! another fave: my grandmother makes an amazing hot cocoa mix and sends me packages throughout the winter to keep me stocked. to me, there’s nothing like looking outside at the cold, crisp night and being toasty inside with nowhere to go!

  12. avatar Erika reply

My favorite part of the cold weather is knowing that there is unlimited cuddling with my sweetie. We curl up on the couch and watch movies, drink cocoa, or just have a meaningful conversation. The cold weather gives us time to connect and eat our favorite foods!

  13. avatar Meredith reply

My two favorite things about winter are decorating the Christmas tree with family while drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas songs and getting snowed in with the fiance on a day that we were supposed to be at work :)

  14. avatar Bliss Kotal reply

As a university student, my favorite thing about this time of year are those days where the weatherman mentions an upcoming possibility of snow or winter mix. Campus just buzzes with the excitement at the fact that classes may be canceled the following day. And if we get lucky and it actually happens, snowmen, snowball fights, and homemade sleds (aka kayaks, dining common trays, pool floats- you name it!) bust out of the woodwork!

  15. avatar Genna reply

My favorite part about winter is the fact that no matter how bad my day has been or how much I feel guilty for eating that second cookie or how terrible my skin dries out in this chilly mountain climate, I can still come home and sit on a big comfy couch in my PJs (even at 6PM!) and share a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate with my fiance. And if I’m lucky, he’ll have the fire roaring by the time I change into my fuzzies!!

  16. avatar Rachael reply

I think Christmas is the best part of winter. I love to bundle up with my man, grab a yummy Starbucks treat, and take our dogs for a walk to look at all the beautiful Christmas lights in the fancy neighborhoods.

  17. avatar kathrynw reply

I moved from northern michigan my freshman year of highschool and went from tunneling my way out of the house just to get to my car, to wearing shorts on christmas morning here in charlotte, nc. My love affair with the snow began at a very young age and has been going steady ever since. I desperately miss the crisp smell of it, and the wonderful sound it makes as you step through it. All the winter sports are my favorite— snowboarding, cross country skiing, iceskating. Snow symbolizes stillness to me, and in my grownup busy world, there are many days I dream of a blizzard sweeping me away from all my responsibilities and forcing all around me to just stop and play a little.

  18. avatar Bethany O. reply

I absolutely love quiet snowfalls early in the morning. The snow muffles sounds and the quiet beautiful white landscape is very calming. Nature outdoes herself in this way. Add in warm fuzzy hats and scarves on a morning walk and you have what I love about winter. I especially like to enjoy a cup of chai latte on a morning like this.

  19. avatar Laurel reply

My favorite part about the winter is being able to use the fireplace! I love the smell of a wood fire, seeing the smoke rise in the cold air from chimneys. Nothing better!

  20. avatar Evee reply

My favorite winter-time activity is picking out the Christmas tree. We bundle up, grab the saw, hop in the truck and head for the forest. When we finally get there we wander around in the snow looking for the "perfect" one. Of course we have different favorites but thats okay as we usually need to get a few extra to bring back to my fiance’s family and my family anyway. The funny part is a tree never looks as tall as it really is next to the other giants of the forest. When we finally get cut it down and drag it to the truck we usually have to cut it nearly in half to fit it in the bed! :)

  21. avatar Theresa reply

My favorite part of winter is looking out the window at the first snow. Everything is so still and quiet and sparkly. The beauty of it takes my breath away. I also love watching the sun glint off melting icicles, and seeing the first shoot of green through the snow as spring tries to come barreling in…

  22. avatar Tara McLees reply

What I love most about Winter is the simple crisp in the air, knowing that I get to bring out my favorite jackets, drink hot cocoas at night, and come home from shopping trips knowing that I not only got the perfect gifts for my family but get to drive home past all the beautiful christmas lights! No wonder they call the season Magical!

  23. avatar Tessa reply

My favorite part of the winter weather is the sudden drive I get to DIY EVERYTHING, from holiday cookies, to comfort food dinners, to everyone’s holiday gifts, I get this sudden drive and energy that I don’t have any other time of the year. My favorite comfort food of the winter is a super-spicy mac N cheese.

  24. avatar Erica reply

We just moved to North Carolina from Chicago, so my winter experience will be extremely different this year. But I loved in Chicago when it was snowing like crazy and my fiance and I would take my dog to the park. It was so peaceful and quiet, which it never is in the city. We would play around in the snow until we couldn’t feel our faces anymore. So much fun!

  25. avatar Abbey reply

Because I’m still a student, I’ll leave my electric blanket on low since I know I’ll be back from morning class in about an hour. Then when I come home, by bed is still toasty and I can snuggle for a little while longer!

  26. avatar alexis reply

I LOVE cashmere sweaters and lined wool pants!!!! And I’m in NYC for the first time in nearly 20 years… and it snowed last night!!! It was beautiful!

  27. avatar Christie reply

Every year I look forward to that first blast of winter weather. At the end of winter each year when it is time to put away the cold weather clothes and coats, I always stick a $5 bill in the pocket of my favorite winter coat. Then, when winter rolls around again and it’s time to pull out my coat, I remember to reach into my pocket, pull out my $5 bill, and I treat myself to a large hot chocolate! :-)

  28. avatar ashley r. reply

i love the winter – a good book, a cozy blanket, the lights on the christmas tree twinkling, baking at home, time with friends and family, pulling on boots over pajamas to fetch the morning paper, shoveling the walk. this is the most wonderful time of the year!

  29. avatar Elana reply

Like so many, my favorite thing about the winter is snuggling with my fiance and our kitten. We love to make a pot of tea and put on a movie and cuddle up on the couch together. It’s even better when snow is gently falling right outside the window… We just had our first snowfall here (in Boston) this weekend!

  30. avatar lauren b. reply

Glass of wine, good music, snuggled up on my couch, fire burning and surrounded by my loved ones. The best of the holiday season…..oh and pumpkin pie.

  31. avatar Katie reply

When I was a little girl and it snowed, we always made snow cream :) And I still do it today! You go outside, gather some fresh, clean snow, take it inside and mix it with sugar, milk, and a little vanilla… It is the best kind of ice cream!

  32. avatar Diana reply

I love how the cold seems to bring out the magic of the season. It doesn’t get any better than sitting in front of the fireplace with my honey on a cold winter night and feeling the magic that radiates from the Christmas tree.

  33. avatar Anne reply

I absolutely love winter weather because it means ski season! I love waking up early in the morning, skiing for an hour or two then coming in for a big breakfast around the fire!

I love the way the photographer brought a little something yellow into every image to compliment the brides dress. These are very joyful images.

  2. avatar Caroline reply

I am absolutely in love with these images, especially since i’m getting married at a (decommissioned) theme park too. The yellow and green of the bride’s dress with the rides is just spectacular!
