It’s DONE!

by in News on

Our final file for the magazine just uploaded to the printer about 15 minutes ago!  Today was… hmmm… imagine you ran a marathon while having to do your taxes and calm a crying baby at the same time.  Sort of like that.  Huge thanks to Liene Stevens and Melissa Lamkin for swooping in during our final hours to lend us their eyes for proofreading.  We could not have finished this without them!  And another HUGE thank you to all of our friends here and on Twitter and Facebook who have rallied around us and encouraged us along the way to make this happen.  When times got tough, we knew we had you behind us!  More than ever before, we can’t wait to celebrate with you at our premiere party in January.  Who’s coming?  We have some huge hugs to give out!

I wish I had time to go celebrate tonight, but we are off to Florida in the morning to see clients and get our press proof.  Laura E will be here keeping things rolling while Rach, Kirstin and I are gone till next week.  We won’t be around our computers much except for magazine corrections, so thanks in advance for your patience in our response time over the next 6 days.

Remember the post about our favorite things?

Well, they arrived in the mail yesterday with an incredibly sweet “congrats on the magazine” card from Liene.  See pic from my Twitter account HERE.  With the madness of today, all the Dots are gone, the peppermint patties half-devoured, chocolate covered raisins scattered on rach’s desk and we almost cracked into the mac n cheese today, but we barely had time to breathe.  Thanks for everything, Liene!  If you aren’t following her on Twitter, you have some catching up to do.  Her series this week on {Peacemaking} is brilliant.  Be sure to check it out.

If you want to follow us (Laura E, Kirstin, Rachel, and I) for the next few days as we journey to Florida to get this magazine shelf-ready, meet with 7 of our brides on Friday (yes, SEVEN!) and celebrate two years of putting this magazine together, sign up for Twitter and join the fun!

Thanks again to all of our readers, brides, wedding pro friends and supporters for making this issue come to life.  We are so grateful!

Off to pack…

Night ya’ll!

The winners are…

Gracie: Pictures of me loving life and the things that I am thankful for: love, life, laughter, and my husband. {editor’s note: Gracie’s husband is deployed right now.  Huge thanks to him for his service from the SW gals!  Gracie has a beautiful blog that we love!}

Laurel: I know this may sound cheesy, but I am thankful for family. I got married 10 days after Hurricane Ike struck Texas… our house was devastated. That day all the little things that I had left to do for the wedding didn’t seem as important any more. I still had programs to make, the gifts I had gathered for my bridal party were somewhere in the rubble. Our families were a great help in the the next 10 days. We still got married, and the ordeal that we went through, and still are, because of the hurricane, made the wedding even more emotional. Weddings are stressful enough without having a hurricane ruin your home 10 days before.

Congratulations to Gracie and Laurel! Thanks to {Red Envelope} who has partnered with us on this contest. Gracie will be receiving a digital {Brag Book} (just featured in US Magazine’s top holiday gifts) and Laurel will be getting a beautiful {Picture Frame Set} to fill with photos from her recent wedding. (both a $100 value!)

Please email me at {laura_e at iloveswmag dot com} with your contact info and we will get your prizes off to you. Thanks to all our readers that shared their joyous moments and what they were thankful for. We sure enjoyed all the entries and hope you did too. Check them all out here {I}, {II}, {III}, {IV}, {V}, {VI} and {VII}. More contest winner announcements on Friday.

Still deciding on what time of year to throw your wedding? Don’t let the cold get to you, a winter wedding can be glamorous and chic!

Snowflakes can be used as a stylish motif! Have a look at how gorgeous they look on a decadent five tier cake {via Marthastewart.com}. They can also sweeten up your menu design and make perfect favors {via Marthastewart.com}. Check out simple table card holders from Beau-coup.com or perhaps get really creative and try snow-globe table number displays {via InStyleWeddings.com}. All white arrangements for a winter wedding can be ethereal, take for example, Martha Stewart Wedding’s pretty centerpieces. See how delicate snowflake letterpress invitations {by Oblation via Minted.com} can be and have fun with your save-the-dates and try vintage ice-skating images like the one shown here from Ceci New York. If the idea isn’t warming up to you yet, try shopping for some divine cover-ups like this beaded lace shrug from Birnbaum & Bullock {via New York Magazine Weddings}.

I hope this board is inspiring for winter-wedding brides! Until next Wednesday! Xoxo Wanwisa
