Google+ Details: Tiffany + Jared - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

For a couple to be set up together based on the notion that they both love shoes, you know their wedding is going to be tight! Tiffany + Jared were married in Jamaica at {Tensing Pen}, a secluded getaway with cut stone cottages. The two were wed on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Bridal couture by {Alvina Valenta} with shoes by {Gucci}. Jared paired his attire with {Prada} kicks. Flowers by {Tai Floral Service}. Capturing all the details and more was one of our favorite photographers,  {Punam Bean Photography}. Make sure to check out her blog and see more from Tiffany + Jared’s big day {here}. Also, Tiffany is a blogger and has a fabulous blog called {I am Styleish} and–if you like Prada heels–has a killer photo of Tiffany’s first pair!  Love it!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We met in college, I was in a sorority and he was in the fraternity right across the street. One of sorority sisters declared that her boyfriend’s best friend was the perfect guy for me as “he owns as many shoes as you!” Turns out she was right, he was perfect for me and to this day he still owns as many shoes as I do!
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? The venue itself. We chose our venue because of how beautiful it was with the huts, the cliffs and the blue sea. We wanted to just bring out the natural beauty of the place.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I searched for my dress for about 7 months and was searching for everything that my dress turned out not to be. In the end I decided to ignore the typical destination wedding dress and just go for the big puffy beaded gown that I had always dreamed of.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: The fact that there was a hurricane that swept the entire resort just the day before, yet on the day of our wedding there was no sign that this had even occurred.
Any DIY items? Our menu/place cards and napkins/table runner were DIY. Jared designed the menu/place cards (they were one piece) with our wedding logo. I am Chinese and wanted to incorporate the “double happiness” symbol somehow so we wrapped “double happiness” ribbons around the menu and napkins. We had packed everything in our suitcase flat and then assembled them the night before. For the napkins, I spent a long time looking for readymade napkins in a pretty gray color and never found it so bought the fabric and embroidery thread and they were made by Jared’s mom and her friend.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? We live in Seattle with our two dachshunds and we just love it and plan on staying here for a bit. We do plan to continue traveling every chance we get. We have yet to take our honeymoon, but we will soon!

Congratulations to Tiffany + Jared. We wish you a very happy honeymoon when you do get the chance!
