We couldn’t take our eyes off Kate! She was truly pretty in pink. Of course, Keith looked stunning in pink as well with a pink tie and pink calla lily lapel. Thanks to {Kelly Moore Photography} for sharing this Lousianna wedding with us.  To see all of the awesome images from this wedding, check out the Kelly Moore Photography {Blog}.

The weather on our wedding day was: Threatening rain. It had rained the day before, and it rained the day after. And that dress was too big for any umbrellas to protect. But we just kept saying, “Wet or dry, at the end of the day, we’ll be married.” It never did rain.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? I basically thought of all the weddings I’d been to in my life, and I thought, “I don’t think I want to do it that way.” No white dresses, no organ music, no rice. We started from scratch.
Favorite design element of your big day: Is it illegal to say “the dress”? As I always knew it would, having a pink wedding dress stole the show. The whole wedding was built around that dress.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: It was the first and only one I tried on. When you’re out to find a pink wedding dress, you already know what you’re looking for.
Describe your wedding flowers: I carried pale pink calla lilies and the bridesmaids carried white ones, all wrapped in silk.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was:
Hm. Just as Kate asked, is it illegal to say the dress? Even if it is, I’m going to say it anyways. There was something amazing about seeing Kate walking down the aisle to the string quartet, looking like some sort of Queen of England in pink, and hearing the hundreds of whisperers exclaiming, “Oh! It’s pink!” and “Look! It’s pink! How beautiful!” It made all the hand wringing caused by those questioning our decisions all the more worth it. In fact, probably the overall favorite detail of our wedding was the fact that we got so many compliments for having our wedding “just the way we wanted it”. I am quite sure no one will forget the dress, the string quartet, and just how much fun our reception was. So to sum it up, it was definitely the unusual way that everything in the wedding had been planned that was my favorite. We did it our way, and didn’t think twice when someone asked, “Are you sure?”
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Being non-traditional. People gave us a really hard time about not using traditional music or a white wedding gown. But in the end, all we heard were compliments.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Truly, everything was a blur all the way up until the limousine ride, but I think that was the most memorable moment anyways. We had gotten into the seat, directed the driver to just swing us around the city for awhile so we could relax, and shut the door. As soon as we did that, Kate turned to me with panic in her eyes and said, “Loosen my dress. I think I’m going to suffocate.” It was the very first task as her husband where I got to “save and protect” her, and it was then that everything really set in. I was her husband, and it made me happier than any moment in my entire life to realize it.

We wish Kate + Keith a lifetime of happiness!
