Google+ Southern Wedding of the Week: Victoria + Nishan, Part II - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

Victoria + Nishan’s fabulous reception decor completely knocks my socks off!  Victoria called the design inspiration “refined elegance with a focus on nature.”  The end result is STUNNING!  Reception music by {The Maxx}, a band out of Atlanta that must be oh-so fabulous because they play at so many of the weddings we highlight.  Huge thanks to photographer, Laura Negri, for submitting this inspiring wedding to us.  To see more of Laura’s work check out her {Blog}.

The weather on our wedding day was: Glorious!
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Refined elegance with a focus on nature.
Favorite design element of your big day:  Seeing the efforts of all the creative forces come together.  We worked with such talented and caring people and seeing the culmination of their hard work was quite special.
Describe your wedding flowers: We focused on flowers and greenery indigenous to the area, with the addition of Lily of the Valley and Snow Berries.
Describe your wedding cake: The wedding cake was a three tier vanilla, butter cream cake covered with fondant Lily of the Valley and ferns.  The bride and groom cake toppers belong to my grandparents and were used at their wedding 72 years ago.  The groom’s cake was of the Fish Pig, my husband’s boat and logo.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was:  Spending the weekend with those that we care about and those who care about us.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Numbers!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?  Nishan’s toast at the reception- it was the most wonderful wedding gift.
Funniest moment?   Karaoke at the party after the reception.

Congratulations to Victoria + Nishan. We wish you a lifetime of happiness and joy!

LOVE the use of grapevines and that it is loose and fills the top of the tent!

Oh my goodness — Victoria is a close friend of one of my cousins! I always admired her beauty growing up, so I’m not surprised that she looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day. It looks like the happy couple had a magical day and I love all of the personalized details!

OH MY GOODNESS! This wedding is just beautiful. As is this blog! I am so excited to know that your magazine maintains a blog as well since I’ve adored Southern Weddings ever since discovering it while down at college in Arkansas!! :-)
