From Shannon at Table 6: It was love at first site for this couple! Michael is an emergency room doctor and Maliena is a pediatrician so they share a deep passion; caring for others and each other. A surprise engagement that won them a wedding give-away, it was worth every effort Michael put into it. Maliena, an Asian American, knew the moment she got engaged she wanted a cherry blossom affair with an American flair. We kept the details close to home and created a cherry blossom heaven no one would ever forget!
How did the two of you meet? Mike was my senior resident on my trauma rotation when I was a medical student.
Describe your engagement: Incredible! The whole thing was videotape and is currently on {DVD Wedding Mall}, under the 2007 25K Giveaway. Mike actually won the contest for most unique wedding proposal. He rented out the entire Tampa Theatre, brought me up on stage, sat me in a chair beside the piano, then sang and played a very special song to me before getting down on one knee.
What attracted me to my husband was: His smile and contagious laugh.
What attracted me to my wife was: She’s so beautiful, she’s so intelligent, and she’s just hot in every aspect!
A date we went on that we’ll always remember: The night we finally opened up to each other—in the most unusual setting—at a nightclub in Atlanta.
Why do you love your husband? He’s funny, generous, kindhearted, loving, and handsome!
