It may be the new year, but we still have a few Southern Weddings V6 tricks tucked up our sleeve! First up is this oh-so-charming and appropriately-titled editorial. Though we are all about weddings, in this issue we also wanted to offer inspiration for some of the girly “side parties” that often come along with them, like bridal showers and bridal brunches. From cake pulls to heirloom recipes, this editorial fits the bill. And thanks to an especially talented team including Jen Huang, Poppies & Posies, Elizabeth Demos, and the gals at Amie Decker Beauty, there are just as many beautiful and inspiring details as any of our weddings!

One of these beautiful charm bracelets is my mama’s, and another is my own! We love featuring personal family pieces in our editorials.

What a magical setting!! It was even more beautiful in person, if you can believe it.

Little touches to make the bride feel extra special are always a “do,” and these paper bells tied onto her chair with satin ribbon are a perfect, easy example.

Popping a bow on top of a buttery stack of biscuits almost turns it into a cake, don’t you think?

Not familiar with the cake pull tradition? Read all about it here!

We set up a little station for gifts to give and get off to the side of the table. Guests were invited to bring a favorite family recipe to stock the bride’s recipe box, and were sent home with a basket of tea cakes made from the bride’s family recipe! Looking for a prettier way to organize your own recipes? We love our new citrus floral recipe boxes!

Cheers to amazing friends and happy celebrations!

This is such a beautiful setting for an intimate side-party! The little details truly make it magical, like those beautiful flowers on the back of the swing. The use of your family charm bracelets add a special, sentimental touch too! I especially enjoyed reading the linked post about the cake pull tradition because I have never seen that done here in New England.

Love this! I’m hosting a bridal shower in February and just decided to do a cake pull because of this post! Are you selling those adorable paper bells on the back of the bride’s chair in the yard sale, by any chance? : )

It’s true, Southern Weddings V6 is going to be our BEST issue yet! So how could we not celebrate with our favorite people? That’s why we’re throwing a big ol’ bash to celebrate, and all y’all are invited!

We are so grateful for our dear readers, vendors, and sponsors, and are SO looking forward to hugging some necks on Thursday, November 14! Come on down to the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill for delicious nibbles and sips inspired by our latest issue and to pick up a goodie bag filled with surprises. There will be corn hole, toe-tapping music, video screenings, sweets, and, among other things, the best photo booth around!

As some of you may remember, our launch party for V5 actually sold out and we weren’t able to accommodate everyone who wanted to come. We’re in a bigger ballroom this year, but be sure to get your tickets early!! To attend, you MUST RSVP! For a glimpse of what’s to come, check out last year’s recap post.

Attention Tennessee readers and vendors! Our friends at Amber Housley Weddings are throwing a mini satellite launch party in Nashville, and would love to see you there if you can’t make the trip to NC! You can see all the details here and RSVP here!

We can’t wait to see y’all soon as we toast to six fabulous years of Southern goodness!!

Much love,
Lara, Emily, Nicole, Marissa, Kristin, and Lisa!

P.S. Don’t forget to wear your finest silver and blue!

P.P.S. If you are one of our many friends traveling in from out of town, there are plenty of options in the area! Unfortunately the Carolina Inn is sold out for the night, but we’d recommend checking the Aloft in Chapel Hill, the Hampton Inn in Carrboro or Chapel Hill, and the Franklin in downtown Chapel Hill.

With July more than halfway over, you can bet that we’re knee-deep in shoot season! Though we’re working away like a mule in a field, we still have more V6 features up our sleeves.

We’re searching for some lovely readers to join our shoot team about 45 minutes outside of Atlanta on September 11. We’d LOVE to encourage all skin and hair colors to apply for the parts of bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen! Gals, feel free to nominate your beaus for the part :)

Send over a headshot, a few candids and your height to [email protected] with the subject line V6 Atlanta Model Call. No need to worry about professional photos — we just want to see your pretty face!

We promise a shoot day that’s gooder than grits!
