Sponsor Love

by in Main, Sponsor Love on

We know y’all are always looking for amazing wedding vendors to surround yourselves with, so we thought we’d sign off for the weekend with a few gems that have recently joined the SW family.

It is NOT hard to find nice things to say about Joey + Jessica. In fact, it’s pretty much the easiest thing in the world. Their photography is jaw-dropping — so crisp and clean and light and beautiful — they’re super nice (I just had the pleasure of meeting them in person!), AND they shot our last cover. Needless to say, we are super honored to count them as a sponsor, and would encourage you all to hustle over to their site and hire them ASAP. After you’ve done that, you can check out their site!

Creating a wedding website can be a tad overwhelming if you’ve never really ventured into the world of web design. The process is easy, however, with Wedding Window by your side! They offer a step-by-step site wizard to guide you through the entire process, from template decisions to text inputting. With a great collection of themes to choose from — and colors that can be customized within each theme — there’s a site for every couple at Wedding Window!

From the minute Katherine joined the SW sponsor family, she won us over with her sweet personality, quick email response time, and fun branding. We’re sure all Katherine Miller Events brides feel the same way! Katherine is an ace at navigating the Charleston wedding market, infusing every event with charming details, fresh ideas, and plenty of style. Want proof? Just check out Amanda + Jared’s wedding that we featured earlier this month! (Posts here and here)

Want to get in on the action? Just email Katharine (our Katharine!) for a media kit!

Thanks so much for the mention SW! Great timing! We actually just launched two new wedding website themes on Friday — Favori and Anthology. Hope you like them!

Though you can’t find today’s Handmade Find in a store near you, I thought you’d find it neat, anyway.

Chris, the handsome fellow in this photo, MADE the blanket for Rachel, his fiancee. Amazing, right?! I love all the possibilities this opens up in my mind for incorporating other personal details or crafts into your shoots or celebrations. What do you think?

Beautiful photo by Katie Stoops. See more from this session on her blog here!

Spring is just around the corner, which means it’s time for everything new and sparkling! In that spirit, we’re excited to announce two new features for the SW blog.

The first is less of a new feature and more of a formalizing of something we’ve already been doing. Remember that cowboy boot post, and that navy bridesmaid dress post? Well, under the new system, both would be folded under a single column: Ask the Experts! We, the SW gals, will be your experts, and you, our readers, will do the asking! Got a question about your wedding or anything related to it? We probably have the answer. Y’all already know us pretty well, but we thought we’d do a little rundown of our respective areas of expertise just as a reminder:

Got a question? You can either send it to any one of us, or send a question to howdy at iloveswmag dot com and we’ll forward it on to the right answer-er. We eagerly await your questions! This type of post has been super fun and chatty in the past, so we’re looking forward to kicking this column off with a bang!

The next new feature? Well, it’s not entirely new, either. Some of you reallllly longtime readers might remember the Southern Bride Bloggers: engaged ladies who committed to posting about their weddings and wedding planning for a few months on the SW site. Ultimately, that structure didn’t work so well for us, but we ARE still interested in celebrating real ladies getting married in the South. So, like our friend Katie at Marriage Confessions, we’re going to start having a “Southern Bride of the Month.” You don’t have to be a blogger, you just have to be willing to answer our nosy questions about your wedding and wedding planning process — what you love best, what’s been the worst, what you’re looking forward to the most, what dress you’ve chosen to wear, what you wish you had known when you started, etc. You should also be engaged, and planning a wedding in the South.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, shoot an email to Emily (emily at iloveswmag dot com) with the following information:

Couples’ names
Wedding date
Wedding location
Blog and/or Twitter addresses, if applicable
Any vendors you’ve booked
Brief description of why we should consider you for our Southern Bride of the Month

Please also attach a photo of you and your honey so we can see your smiling faces! (Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be pro quality!)

We can’t wait to get these two new features off the ground, so start sending those emails!

Great ideas, you should consider doing a column by a wedding photographer to get the photographers perspective on the day. It would be great for brides to hear how to get the best photos, or have different photographers guest blog.
