Things you’d write home to your Momma about: Twirl Boutique has been one of the The Knot’s Best of Weddings since 2011. Twirl has also been featured on Southern Weddings, Wedding Chicks, Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, Wedding Sparrow, Kentucky Bride, and Wedding Row Kentucky. Currently we are the exclusive Kentucky retailer of Hayley Paige’s signature line, which we are very excited about!
How I got into weddings: From Ty: My path to becoming a Twirl Girl started in January 2009. Frustrated with the corporate world, I longed to have a career that I enjoyed and loved every day. Little did I know 10 months later my dream would be a reality! After being a bridesmaid 9 times over the past few years I realized Lexington needed a place like Twirl. A place where brides and their best friends could shop locally and have an enjoyable experience choosing classic, yet stylish dresses that they will remember wearing forever. I opened the doors to Twirl Lexington on November 27, 2009 and love every second of it! I am so blessed to be able to help brides make their vision a reality.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? We love the traditions that always tend to be threaded throughout a Southern wedding. From family heirlooms being used to burying the bourbon and cake pulls, there are always sweet little details in a Southern wedding that make it so special and memorable. Traditions create legacies and what better legacy to create than one of love & joy from your wedding day!
Favorite part of a wedding day? The groom’s face when he sees his bride at the end of the aisle is an all time favorite moment of ours. It doesn’t matter if they’ve already shared a first look or not, his expression when he sees his soon to be wife in her gorgeous dress is one of pure delight and joy. That moment never ceases to send our hearts soaring!
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Life is too precious and too short to live with hesitations – be a team and together love wildly. Choose joy, be intentional, trust faithfully, serve selflessly, and be adventurous!
