Stephanie Scholl Events

Stephanie is a dear friend of Southern Weddings, and we know she’ll win you over, too! Her warmth and passion is immediately apparent when you meet her, and makes planning your day alongside her a joy (and a breeze for all of your vendors!).

Stephanie Scholl Events aims to make your wedding uniquely gorgeous and meaningful to you and your groom’s love story; your family, friends, and community; your favorite traditions and history; and who you two are and who you hope to become. Weddings are about the beautiful details and smooth execution, but they’re also about so much more! Your wedding day brings together all of the things in life that I adore the most, and I believe that your wedding is the perfect opportunity to celebrate your marvelous and meaningful love story and all of the people, traditions, beauty, and joy that make up your life.

Name(s): Stephanie Scholl
Where you call home: Raleigh, North Carolina
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I am a preferred vendor at the Carolina Inn and the Parlour at Mann’s Chapel, and have been featured on Southern Weddings and The School of Styling.
Location/Coverage: I am based in the Triangle of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill), but I consistently plan and design weddings throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, DC. I love to travel!
How I got into weddings: Over the course of the last many years, I read lots of wedding magazines and blogs (Southern Weddings has been my very favorite since I began reading it in 2009!), but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I really grew to love weddings and even considered working in the wedding industry. I also attended something like thirty weddings in a three year window of time (I am from the South, after all!). I never once was overwhelmed with the amount of wedding-related festivities in my life, and I threw so many of those showers and helped in little ways at the weddings. It was around then that friends and family kept telling me how talented and skilled at this I was, and why wasn’t I planning weddings yet?! It truly was the constant support and encouragement that got me to even consider planning weddings. I had a few close friends who were either recently engaged or knew they’d be getting married soon, and they assured me that they really, really wanted me to plan and design their weddings. I’m forever grateful to those close friends who let me plan and design their weddings with zero actual experience, besides being a bridesmaid and a wedding guest dozens of times, having a good design eye, loving weddings, and being incredibly organized! I launched Stephanie Scholl Events in January 2014, and, well, the rest is history! I didn’t dream that this would become my full-time job (as of July 2015!), but I’m so grateful and ecstatic that it is!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? I think Southern weddings are unique in the sense that there is such a profound focus on meaningful wedding days that ultimately lead to strong, lasting marriages. I adore all of the personalized, meaningful, unique touches that honor the couple, their traditions and culture, and the family and friends that celebrate love alongside them. The beauty of the South amazes me every day, and so many elements of a wedding pull from that inspiration. Southern weddings radiate joy, are steeped in tradition, tell beautiful love stories, and have, at their core, a desire to cultivate a marriage stronger than a Southern oak tree.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Ultimately, a wedding is one day (and hopefully it’s an incredible, special, and beautiful day!), but I want my couples to have a marriage more beautiful than their wedding. So while I work with them and help design, refine, and create the meaningful and beautiful details that go into a wedding day, I try to help them look at the big picture and focus on the fact that their favorite people in the world are coming together to help celebrate them and their love story!
