How I got into weddings: Our family has owned a 44-acre property since 2004. We used to host charity events, and guests would always tell us we should host weddings and corporate events. After one of our family members got married, we realized that is what we wanted to do to be able to share the property with others.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The hospitality! That’s what Southerners are known for. Guests are sweet, vendors are sweet, and we pride ourselves on our sweet hospitality too.
Favorite part of a wedding day? The moment right after the bride and groom exit the aisle from the ceremony. Usually no one is paying attention to that moment because they are focused on the bridal party going down the aisle after them. That moment when no one is watching has to be the sweetest and most honest moment a couple can have. We love catching a glimpse of that moment from afar. It reminds us how lucky we are to be able to host a day so special for our couples.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? 50 years from now, when you and your husband/wife are sitting in your rocking chairs drinking iced tea on the front porch, you won’t remember that the cocktail napkins were the wrong color. All you’ll remember are the sweet memories of that day. Don’t sweat the small stuff because it won’t matter in the future.
Dream travel destination? That’s a tough one…probably Monaco.
Favorite Southern city? That we’ve been to? Asheville. That we want to go to? Savannah.
Early bird or night owl? Night owl! Sunsets over sunrises any day.
Favorite pie flavor? Can’t choose just one. We are in the South after all. Pumpkin, French Silk, Banana Cream, and Cherry.
Favorite biscuit topping? Butter.
