How I got into weddings: I interned at a magazine here in Montgomery right before graduating from college that also planned major city events, weddings, corporate events, and birthdays, and I completely fell in love with weddings. At one point, I was working for a venue, the magazine, and assisting on some weekends with another floral designer/planner just to learn as much as I could about the events industry. I also come from a line of gardeners (my grandfather was an award-winning rose gardener and my grandmother worked in greenhouses at Caffco), so I guess you could say it is in my veins. My heart lies in serving others and I am so grateful to call this my passion and my job!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? Rich love of family, traditions, and faith.
Favorite part of a wedding day? I absolutely love handing a bride her bouquet for the first time, and get chill bumps every time I watch the bride and her dad make their way down the aisle.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Tackle finances at the get-go before making large decisions in planning. I always tell people that you can have a wedding on any budget, but you cannot have any wedding on any budget. Set your boundaries, but make sure it is proportioned and balanced so your event stays cohesive aesthetically and financially to your goals.
Dream travel destination? Italy
Favorite Southern city? Thomasville, Georgia! Love the gorgeous plantations and small hometown feel of the downtown area. Auburn is a definite favorite, too!
Early bird or night owl? Early bird
Favorite pie flavor? Tie between coconut and lemon meringue
Favorite biscuit topping? Mayhaw jelly
