Things you’d write home to your Momma about: In the first year of business, RRE started planning and/or completed 22 weddings and debuted to rave client reviews. In only the second year of business we expanded and opened up our design studio in a gorgeous historic storefront space on Burke Street in Winston-Salem. Come visit us! RRE was voted the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina’s “Best Wedding Planner” of 2010 in Yes! Weekly Magazine’s annual “Best of the Triad” Awards. In 2011, RRE earned the Winston-Salem Journal’s distinction of having one of the top four blogs in the local market
How I got into weddings: After planning hundreds of corporate events and realizing that those projects weren’t allowing the creative parts of my brain quite enough exercise, I forged my way into the wild world of weddings and have never looked back since. Before starting my company in 2010, I spent four years planning corporate and social events across the nation for the Coca-Cola Company and The University of Georgia’s Office of Special Events. I joined the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio, Texas in 2007 and spent three years booking, planning and servicing social events and weddings of all sizes, and was responsible for growing the busy convention hotel’s wedding business by over 200%. After relocating to North Carolina, the time was right to create Rebecca Rose Events and weddings have been the heart of this business since day one.
Favorite Southern city: It’s a toss-up between Savannah and New Orleans. Both are full of great food, good people and beautiful historic architecture.
Pie bar or red velvet cake: I love a good pie any day, but red velvet cake is God’s gift to my sweet tooth. Plus – every time I eat it I think of my favorite movie, Steel Magnolias. Bleedin’ armadillo groom’s cake anyone? Anyone?
Succulents or peonies: Well now, that just depends on what the bride wants, doesn’t it? Personally – I’ve rarely seen a succulent or peony I haven’t found a way to love.
