I’m not just planning a wedding — I am marrying the stylistic and strategic details of the day that marks the beginning of a beautiful new adventure. A day that represents years of courtship, the blossoming of love, and of all those indelible memories shared both by the bride and groom and by family and friends. From the way a bride feels when she finally finds the perfect wedding dress, to the feeling of having your nearest and dearest all in one room, to the joy you feel when you see all the swoon-worthy details debut, perfectly styled to represent you as a couple, it is the joy around your wedding day that keeps Jessica Rourke Wedding Planning + Styling so enthralled. And how could I not be in love with this life of celebration, unique creativity and hopeless romance?

Name: Jessica Rourke
Where you call home: South Carolina
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: So honored to have been featured on some of my favorite blogs, including Southern Weddings, Grey Likes Weddings, Once Wed, and Style Me Pretty and published in Martha Stewart Weddings, Geraldine, Magnolia Rogue, Weddings Unveiled and Smitten Magazine. I’m also still pinching myself over becoming a Southern Weddings Blue Ribbon Vendor!
Location/Coverage: South Carolina and beyond!
How I got into weddings: I started working as an assistant to a wedding planner in 2004, after graduating from college with a degree in Art/Graphic Design. After learning the ins and outs of the etiquette and coordination side of weddings, I was so excited to combine that with my love of design and styling. In 2010, I went full-time with my business, and am so blessed to work in such an incredible industry!
Favorite part of a wedding day? Hands-down, seeing the groom see his bride for the first time. When everyone else is looking at the glowing bride as she makes her grand entrance, I am trying to peek around to see the groom’s reaction!
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? My advice is to start off by booking a wedding planner and stylist that truly understands what is most important to you in your wedding day. Then trust her to build an amazing team of talented and kind vendors to bring the vision to life, in a perfectly styled and orchestrated approach.
Dream travel destination? Next up on my travel wish list is Greece! I daydream about swimming in their bright blue seas!
Favorite Southern city? Charleston, South Carolina – it embodies everything that is good in life… design, history and food!
Pie bar or red velvet cake? Pie bar… but can my mom make them?
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? Anthropologie
Succulents or peonies? Peonies… I mean, they are the “Queen Flower” after all!
