If there’s one thing I think every bride-to-be wants in an engagement ring, it’s sparkle–I joke that I got nothing done the day after I got engaged, because all I wanted to do was stare at my new ring in different lights! Tons of sparkle can sometimes mean tons of dollar signs, though, which is why I was excited to learn about the Endless Brilliance collection from Zales. These rings all feature a center cluster of diamonds that create the big impact that sparkle-loving brides love, but at an affordable price point. I shared what I learned about the collection, and some of the most popular styles, in the latest episode of Southern Weddings TV–take a look below!

Quad, or princess, designs are a little bit edgy, but still elegant enough for a traditional bride. They feature four center stones arranged in a square. I think they’re especially show-stopping when paired with a sparkly wedding band!

Princess-Cut Quad Diamond Three Stone Engagement Ring in 14K White Gold, 1/2 CT. T.W. Princess-Cut Quad Diamond Frame Ring in 10K White Gold

The flower design is a great fit for a bride who loves the look of a round stone–this is such a fun take on that classic shape! It features a round center cluster of stones that sits against several layers of stones on the band.

Still not enough sparkle for you? Enter the cushion designs, where stones are layered on top of one another to create rings with major wow factor. How stunning are those emerald shapes?

Which of these rings is your favorite? I think the yellow gold princess ring (top right) is incredible, but the cushion ring on the bottom right is the winner for me!

Once I had an engagement ring on my finger, I had a pretty good idea of what type of wedding band I wanted right away. Dave, on the other hand, who has never worn a ring before, wasn’t quite sure, and as we started our search, we were a little taken aback by all of the choices! There are no rules anymore when it comes to choosing a ring for your groom–rather than just something that matches yours, the options are out there for him to choose a ring that fits his personal style to a tee. I recently had the opportunity to chat about the men’s wedding bands at Zales Jewelers for Southern Weddings TV–check it out below!

Let’s take a closer look at some of the options that will fit each gent’s style, shall we?

The Traditionalist: I think a lot of Southern grooms fall into this category–they want to wear the same types of rings that their dads and grandfathers wore. For these grooms, keep the ring simple and classic with a white or yellow gold band with a smooth finish and rounded edges. Bonus: these rings will never go out of style, and would be perfect to pass down to future generations!

The Active Groom: Marissa’s baseball-playing beau shared a tip with us for “the active gent”–the outdoorsman, the athlete, or any guy who works with his hands a lot, and needs a ring that is super durable. He has a formal wedding band that he wears on days off, but he switches it out with a sturdy black titanium ring when he’s on the baseball field. Tungsten is another great option that comes at an affordable price point.

The Businessman: A groom who lives in a suit needs a ring that is stylish, but not too flashy. For a boardroom-appropriate look, stick to a classic shape with some interesting detailing, like a hammered finish or a beveled edge.

The Fashion-Forward Gent: For a gent who wants a ring as modern and edgy as he is, a two-toned ring is a fun, trendy style. My favorite combinations are charcoal rhodium and rose gold and white and yellow gold. If he wants a little bit of bling, Zales also has options featuring diamond or colored stone details.

What “category” does your groom fall into? What type of ring does/will he wear? We’d love to hear!

Unique Engagement Ring Styles

This post is brought to you by Zales Jewelers – thanks for your support of the brands that make Southern Weddings possible!

As y’all may have seen on Instagram, I recently took a whirlwind trip to New York City to chat about one of my favorite topics for Southern Weddings TV–engagement rings! I’ve had a ring on my left hand for almost a year now (crazy!!), but seeing it still takes me right back to the moment when I was looking at my handsome fiancé on one knee through teary eyes and I caught sight of my ring for the very first time. I had given Dave very little direction, and thankfully, he picked out something perfect for me regardless, but I do think there’s a lot of value in knowing what kind of ring you want, especially if you’re looking for something particularly unique. I loved sharing a few of my current favorite unique ring styles from Zales Jewelers in this video!

Let’s take a closer look at a few of these styles, shall we?

Composite rings, in which the “center stone” is made up of a grouping of smaller stones, create a dramatic look with tons of sparkle, but at an affordable price point. As much as we love all things traditional at Southern Weddings, we also love seeing rings that are a little bit unusual, and composite rings often remind me of the vintage pieces my grandmother may have worn. If you’re not a vintage-loving bride though, never fear–composite rings also come in beautiful, modern settings.

I’m sure y’all will agree with me when I say that having a signature color is a very Southern thing–Shelby’s blush and bashful in Steel Magnolias, anyone? If you have a sentimental connection or special tie to a certain color or gemstone, I love the idea of making your ring more “you” by incorporating colored stones–either through colored diamonds or gemstones.

For a ring that’s glamorous and different, but that will still be as stylish on your 50th anniversary as it is today, fancy shapes are a lovely option. This just refers to a diamond shape that isn’t your standard round or princess (my personal favorites are cushion, oval, and emerald). If this is a look you’re considering, pay special attention to the tip I gave in the video–it’s important!

Zales is now holding their Semi-Annual Bridal Sale until November 6–just in time for your beau to pick something up before the start of engagement season! I can’t tell y’all how many brides we’ve heard from whose grooms checked their gal’s Pinterest boards before buying a ring, so if you love these styles as much as I do, don’t be afraid to pin your favorites! ;)
