We get lots of fun mail at Southern Weddings, but I must say, jingling packages of ornaments are a definite office favorite. We were delighted to hold our fifth annual ornament swap this year, and y’all outdid yourselves with your creative, oh-so-Southern goodies! Here’s a peek at some of the pretty things that graced our mailbox this month.

So darling, right? Thanks so much to everyone who participated, and we hope y’all will join us again next year!

They’re baaaack! We’re so excited to be hosting once again two of our favorite holiday events: our fifth (wow!) annual ornament swap, and our third annual Gingerbread Barn Building!

Our Gingerbread Barn Building will once again take place at the lovely Carolina Inn, this year on Wednesday, December 4. Please RSVP here if you’re planning to join us! For a peek at the masterful creations from last year’s barn builders, look here. As you can see, most attendees choose to work in groups!

For readers near and far, we’re so happy to be hosting our fifth annual ornament swap! We had an amazing swap last year and would love for y’all to participate this time around. Here’s how it will work (please read carefully!):

1. By Monday, December 2: Email [email protected] with “Holiday Ornament Swap” in the subject line. Include your name, mailing address, email address, website/blog address, and instagram handle.
2. By Wednesday, December 4: Lisa will have emailed you the names and addresses of up to five people to send ornaments to. Yep, that means you’ll be sending up to five ornaments, and you’ll be receiving up to five in return!
3. By Friday, December 13: Be sure to send out your ornaments no later than this date! Then, all that’s left to do is wait for the holiday goodness to roll in.

Your ornaments can be homemade or store-bought, but make sure they’re as Southern as possible!!

Don’t hesitate to leave a comment with any questions! We hope to see y’all soon!

P.S. Don’t forget: the SWPS will be closing up shop on December 17, so make sure to get your gifting orders in before then! There are lots of Southern holiday goodies to be had!

Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

The Southern Weddings gals are all working from home today as we prep to celebrate the holidays with our families. Our hearts and prayers are still with everyone in Connecticut and those affected by Sandy Hook. It makes us want to pack up our cars and hug our parents, siblings and kids all the sooner. The office has been quite festive with our packed tree full of ornaments from our swap, getting us in the mood for December 25 celebrations.

P.S. Because we’ll be out of the office and spending time with our families, all orders from the Southern Weddings shop will ship when we get back on January 3.

We finished off our 12 Days of Southern Weddings Christmas giveaways this week. Did you enter all of them? Be sure you do before December 25 when they close!

Day 1: Perch Paper Company
Day 2: Monogram Works
Day 3: 1 Canoe 2
Day 4: Design Darling
Day 5: Moon and Lola
Day 6: Shop Memento
Day 7: Durango Boots
Day 8: Embellish My Day
Day 9: Bella Bridesmaid
Day 10: Tipsy Skipper
Day 11: Lilly Pulitzer
Day 12: Southern Fried Paper

We adore this holiday inspiration shoot — perfect for translating holiday motifs into Southern charm, snow or no snow.

Big thanks to all y’all who came out to our Gingerbread Barn Building competition a couple of weeks ago! It was a huge success and we were blown away by some of the barns y’all created. See the full recap here.
