Fun recipes and cocktails were the first thing to draw me to Leah Bergman’s colorful blog, Freutcake, but I must admit, my favorite post of hers was one called “Marriage, Friendship & Love Tanks.” Her reflections following her first year of marriage were so thoughtful and practical, and we were delighted to share some of her advice in V6!

If there is something small I can do to make my husband’s day better, I try to achieve it, and he does the same for me. Will taking out the trash or running an errand without being asked make your spouse’s day easier? Why not focus on one small thing each day to make your husband or wife’s day a bit brighter? I find that this small practice makes for a happy marriage…plus, you’ll never be left with a stinky trash can. How bad can that be?

How gorgeous were this week’s real weddings?

The only thing more romantic than Katie and Mark‘s wedding (above) was their sweet love story.
Jill and Donald‘s wedding was chic and elegant, with the perfect amount of New Orleans flair.
We couldn’t stop smiling at Abby and Cameron‘s joyful wedding pictures!
We loved the combination of rustic wood details and soft white blooms at Alex and Eric‘s winter wedding.

Have a wonderful weekend! It’s supposed to hit 78 degrees in Chapel Hill tomorrow, so we’ll hopefully be checking off a few more spring doins!

One of the most frequently asked questions from readers when planning my own wedding was about what I was doing for bridesmaid gifts. Everyone, it seems, is looking for a token that’s sweet, personal, meaningful, aesthetically pleasing, and that bridesmaids will keep, use, and/or treasure — oh yes, and it can’t be too expensive, especially with the size of some bridal parties in the South. That’s a tall order for any surcee to fill! Happily, The Bride’s Maids Shop is stepping in to offer some delightful options.

The Bride’s Maids is a one stop shop featuring specialty bridesmaids gifts and carefully curated gift packages. They aim to lessen the stress surrounding The Great Bridesmaid Gift Hunt by providing high quality, highly personalized presents.

Many of their items are handmade or designed exclusively for their site, which we love! We also love how they’ve sorted their picks into packages, making it easy for brides to personalize without pain. We’ve highlighted a few throughout this post!

Every package includes complimentary gift wrapping and a thank you note card – a huge timesaver that makes it easy for you to pen a heartfelt note to each gal before handing her goodies over. Because truly, letting your best ladies know how much they mean to you (in writing!) is one of the best gifts you can give.

Ready to purchase? The sweet folks at The Bride’s Maids Shop are offering SW readers 15% off their entire order with code SOWED15!

And, since it seems like everyone’s always searching for ideas, we’d love for y’all to chime in: What did you gift your bridesmaids, if anything?
