Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

Happy Halloween, friends! We’re all treats and no tricks around here as we gear up for the most exciting week of our year: the launch of Southern Weddings V8! Be sure to stop by on Monday for the reveal of our gorgeous cover, and start checking your mailboxes and local bookstores/grocery stores/etc. on Thursday to see if you can find our brand new issue. We are giddy with excitement for y’all to see it, and sincerely hope you love it as much as we do!

P.S. There’s still time to place a preorder here! We highly recommend ordering online if you’re outside of the Southeast, where it’s a bit harder to track down a copy of Southern Weddings on news stands.

Perry Vaile

In case you missed it this week…

Monique and Tim: Paper cranes, chalkboard details, and food trucks in Florida.
Kimberley and Jonathon: A collegiate color palette, handwritten vows, and navy bridesmaid dresses in Virginia.
Hilari and Grant: A gold glitter gown, custom corn hole, and a polka dot cake in Tennessee.
Lindsey and Brian: Wildflowers, mountain views, and a bluegrass pickin’ party in Tennessee.

We rounded up our favorite fall date ideas on Southern Newlywed.
This rugged, but elegant, shoot inspired by autumn in Texas is so lovely!
Kristina of Medicine & Manicures styled our favorite Love Never Fails tee.
Nicole gave us a tour of the Maxwell Mansion in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
We loved hearing our readers’ favorite things about marriage in Sweet Tea Sunday.

Have a fun weekend, and congratulations to anyone getting married!

We are such seasonal creatures, aren’t we? It’s entirely predictable, but all I’m craving right now are crunchy leaves, deeper hues, and warm textures. That’s probably why we’re sharing this wedding inspiration with y’all–it hits all of the right autumnal notes! Fall in the South is a gorgeous time to have a wedding, and if you’re getting married soon, or about a year from now, I hope you’ll find this aesthetic as inspiring as we did!

Big hugs to Luke & Cat Photography, who shot these photos as part of their Life & Craft Workshop!

From the ladies of Two Be Wed:
Our inspiration was drawn directly from the rugged ranch land while maintaining elegance with florals inspired by the Dutch Masters style. We incorporated metallic accents and touches of leather to create a masculine and sophisticated look. With a deep fall color palette, mixed metallics, and a subtle nod to Ralph Lauren’s ranch home in Ridgeway, the outcome is “ranch-refined” and distinctly Texan, a blend of Southern and Western in one aesthetic.

Location: V8 Ranch | Design: Catherine Duffin and Abby Mejia of Two Be Wed | Photographers: Luke and Cat Photography | Rentals: The Foundry | Florals: Bramble and Bee | Cake: Sugary and Chic | Stationery: Emily Reeves Calligraphy | China and Barware: Bering’s Hardware | Hair and Makeup: Hey Lovely Makeup | Dress: Hayley Paige | Bridal Salon: Now and Forever Bridal Boutique | Tux: Ralph Lauren

Hey Lovely Makeup and Two Be Wed are delightful members of our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory!

Happy weekend, y’all! Can I get a coffee cup cheers to Saturday? Kristin and I are in recovery mode after five days at Bridal Market, and with V8 now off at the printers (!!), I think it’s safe to say that all of the SW gals are ready for a few days of sleeping in, taking it slow, and snuggling a little extra this weekend. What are your favorite ways to unwind after a long week? Let us know in the comments, and if one of your answers is “catching up on blogs,” then see below for all of this week’s posts!

See more from this engagement session by our Blue Ribbon Vendor, Hannah Mayson Park, on our Facebook page!
