Courtney + Erin’s fantastic wedding continued into the night at {Robin’s Restaurant}. Really enjoyed these images? Check out Once Wed’s {post} and learn more about this ‘Vintage Wedding by the Sea’. Also, check out this incredible {slide show} on Paloma Images site. Thanks again to James of {Paloma Images} for sharing this wedding with us.

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Being able to have our wedding in our favorite place in the world. Cambria has a special place in both of our hearts and memories. Even though planning the wedding from a distance made it a little more difficult, it was totally worth it. It was so fun to introduce all of our friends to Cambria’s small town charm. The rehearsal dinner and reception were at two of our favorite restaurants, and our ceremony was at the most perfect old chapel. Our wedding created some amazing new memories in Cambria for us and our friends and families.
Describe your wedding cake: In lieu of a one big cake, we choose to go with a three different flavors of cupcakes. We had lemon with chocolate frosting, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate with chocolate ganache frosting. All the cupcakes were topped with silver nonpareils and tiny monograms and were enclosed in lacy wrappers. Our mini cutting cake was chocolate and raspberry, topped with a vintage bride and groom cake topper.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? The biggest challenge we overcame while planning the wedding was planning a destination wedding by ourselves while both working full time. Every spare moment was dedicated to the wedding, but it meant that we had a hand in every single detail.
Scariest moment? Hearing the rain pouring down that morning and realizing that we had not thought of a back up plan and I had no idea what we would do if it didn’t stop raining.
The most unexpected event on our wedding day was: That everything went so smoothly! My mother’s best friend took care of everything related to set up so that I was able to enjoy the day.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: fun, unique, romantic
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? I would advise someone planning a wedding to try to create a day that is personal and to incorporate things that are unique to you and your finance. Make lots of lists and stay organized with a wedding planner where you can keep all of your information and contact numbers in one place. Set aside some budget money to hire a day of coordinator to make sure every detail of your vision is executed, so that you and your family can relax on your wedding day. Also to enjoy it, because the day goes so fast!
Best advice or most memorable comment someone made to you during the wedding celebration. Many people told us that our wedding was the most unique that they had ever been to. It was so nice to hear that they appreciated and noticed all the effort that we had put into all the details.

Congratulations to Courtney + Erin. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Goodness! Check out the vintage touches that Courtney incorporated into her wedding decor–uber fabulous! How about these stunning soft floral arrangements!?  Everything turned out absolutely beautiful and to think it was raining when Courtney + Erin awoke on their wedding day!

What was the design inspiration for your wedding? I wanted our wedding to be classically beautiful, with fun, vintage elements that would make for a memorable day. We used a palate of aqua, sage green and chocolate brown, accented with burgundy, silver, and various shades and textures of white.
Favorite design element of your big day: My favorite design element of our wedding was the vintage touches that we used in the décor. All of the centerpieces were created from vintage silver trays and 50’s era aqua pottery that my mother and I have collected for years. The cupcakes were displayed on antique glass cake plates next to my mother’s collection of vintage bride and groom cake toppers.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: My wedding dress was actually the first dress that I picked out and the first one I tried on. I tried on a few after, but couldn’t stop thinking about that first one. I went back a couple of weeks later to order it.
Describe your wedding flowers: I wanted our wedding flowers to be mainly white, green and chocolate brown and to have really interesting texture. I almost wanted them to look like we had picked them ourselves. I wanted to incorporate unique materials like ferns, leaves, berries and buds. They looked perfect on the tables in the garden, and really stood out among the flowers growing in the garden. I received so many wonderful comments about them.

More to come from Courtney + Erin’s reception!

The entire Southern Weddings team was wowed when we saw the paper goods. Interestingly enough, James from {Paloma Images}’ wife, Courtney (yes, same name as the bride, different lovely lady), who also helped capture the wedding, was the designer and creator of the paper items! Check out her company, {Flush Designs}, which makes the most beautiful hand made goods. Take a look at the items she designed for Courtney + Erin’s big day! Here is what Courtney, the bride, had to say about Flush “The save the dates and invitations set the perfect tone for what people could expect from our wedding!”

More details to come from Courtney + Erin!
