Southern Weddings

There are all sorts of reasons why we choose to feature a wedding on the blog.  Sometimes we fall in love with the details, sometimes we fall in love with the photography, and sometimes we fall in love with the couple’s story.  In the case of Carrie + Douglas, it was the stunning imagery from Jesse Leake that drew us in, but the heartfelt story behind the day that really hooked us.  Wondering about the horse?  It was given to Carrie by her father before he passed away shortly before her wedding.  Being accompanied down the aisle by the horse was a lovely sentiment, no?  See more from their day (which took place at a private ranch in the Fremont Hills) at Jesse’s blog here.

I don’t think I ever heard of a horse leading the bride down the aisle.

It’s going to be quite the party, y’all!  But more than that, it’s a chance to step out from behind social media and actually connect face-to-face with some of the people you (and we!) interact with on a daily basis.  So, as our friend Sarah Rhoads wrote on her blog, “come on out to the most killer party at WPPI, and let’s dance our faces off!”  We couldn’t agree more — hope to see you there!

Welcome back to another spectacular Wanwisa Wednseday!

There are so many details to get wrapped up over when it comes to wedding planning. Sometimes we miss the smallest ones, the ones that can make a huge impact on the look and feel of your special day. Think napkins! Yes, it’s such a minute detail and so boring when one can spend hours looking over letterpress stationery or hundreds of hydrangea bouquets BUT, think about it for a second: after all, napkins are one of those things your guests will use during a large portion of your reception. If you use special ones, it’s a detail none of your guests will miss! Ask your venue if they have a selection of special styles (like silk organza for instance) or seek out a place that will rent them. If you’re planning on an understated floral look – think about adding that extra touch with napkins (napkin rings too!) as well as place settings (china and flatware) and table linens. To prove my point that napkins aren’t a snore – check out some fabulous ones as well as ways to dress up classic crisp ones via Martha Stewart Weddings and Horchow.com. Hopefully these will ignite a little inspiration!

Until next Wednesday! Xoxo, Wanwisa
