Happy Monday!  We’re kicking off an exciting week with Paisley + Godfred’s beautiful big day.   Photography by Sarasota, FL-based {Heartistic Photo}.  Check out their {BLOG} for more of this Philippi Mansion fete. Godfred is loving the camera in these fun portraits…

Occupations: Paisley is a high school special education teacher in NYC and aspiring photographer. Godfred works as a Business Intelligence project leader for Louis Vuitton North America.
The weather was: The weather was AMAZING, blue sky and cool breeze.
Did you have a theme for your wedding? I really just wanted everything to be pink and romantic and a bit vintage-y.
Describe your wedding cake: Pink with ivory accents from Publix. They did not have an interracial cake topper couple, so we went with a penguin couple (the bride’s favorite animal).
How did the two of you meet? At Moe’s bar in Brooklyn. Paisley walked up to Godfred and said ‘hi’.
Describe your engagement: I returned from 9 days in Ecuador, and Godfred had missed me so much he greeted me with roses and a ring.
What attracted me to my husband was: He is a genuinely fantastic human being. Plus, he has a hot accent.
What attracted me to my wife was: the way she looked at me the first time she saw me. I knew I was going to marry her.
A date we went on that well always remember: Losing our money in Atlantic City
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning? It is difficult to plan a Florida wedding from New Jersey. Fortunately, the mother of the bride turned out to be an exceptional wedding planner and went above and beyond in making this day perfect.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? When we had the bridal party dance (to ‘Just Like Heaven’ by The Cure), I looked around and saw our closest friends dancing and having fun. It felt perfect.
Scariest moment? We wrote our own vows. I decided to say mine in Godfred’s language (Ga), so I had his brother translate for me. I was extremely nervous about getting this part right.
Funniest moment? While walking me down the aisle, my father lost his pants. Seriously. He was wearing a rented tuxedo, and the pants were too large.
What were your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue items? Old: my great-grandmother’s earings and bracelet, New: my dress, Borrowed: my grandmother’s necklace, Blue: Blue lace underwear
How was your wedding different than the way you’d always imagined it would be? Honestly it was more amazing than I ever imagined. The only thing I regret is that it went by so fast. People always says that, but it is true. The whole evening felt like a 20 minute blur of vows and food and wine and friends and family and lots of pictures.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: joyful, romantic, and PINK
Did you write your own vows? Yes, and it was a wonderful surprise to hear what Godfred had written.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Make sure all of the tuxedo pants fit properly!

A few more of our favorites…

Congratulations Paisley + Godfred!
