Happy April Fool’s Day!
Small town venues lend a special charm to Southern weddings everywhere, and we just can’t get over how much fun the jean short (“jort”)-wearing guests seem to be having at Elaine + Bruce’s Florida shindig. CMT was on-hand to document the high school sweethearts’ Southern soiree at the Horse Hole Mud Bog. The best thing about holding your wedding at a local mud pit? Ya don’t have to wear shoes! (Trust us: guests will thank you later when they don’t have to muddy-up their favorite pair of cowboy boots while four wheeling.) Sure, we love the personalized DIY projects (invitations handwritten on paper napkins plus an oversized beer can archway) the couple wove into their big day, but our favorite detail of all? The giant matrimonial beer slide that took the place of a traditional aisle. Fun! Celebrity Tom Arnold officiated the intimate wedding before guests noshed on a mud-themed wedding cake. Now, if only we could get Emily to stop oggling the wait staff’s sleek owl-studded tank tops and cute orange shorts…

Oh my goodness. The muddy cake is absolutely hysterical!!!! I love it.
You simply MUST tell us where to find the bride’s elegant hairpiece.
I want to go to there! :) Looks like a blast… Congrats Elaine & Bruce!
I seriously had to rub my eyes when I logged on and saw this. It was like WOAH! Good April Fools Ladies! The mud cake is what’s up!
Okay, I thought you were serious there for a minute. Good one!!
Actually, I can totally imagine a shindig like this say in Daytona Beach at the height of Race Weeks (say, the day before Daytona 500). Totally digging the beer cans arch!
My first reaction: "What in the world?!!!!" Second reaction: Why is the last link to Wikipedia….oh yeah, April Fool’s! Thanks–great joke!
