Brianne McMullan Events is a wedding planning, design, and event management company that specializes in creating personalized celebrations that combine traditional Southern hospitality with fresh design elements. We believe in a family-like planning environment, custom service offerings that fit our clients’ exact needs, and an efficient client experience that takes the pressure off and allows our couples to stay present with each other. As a result, our couples arrive at their wedding day to a custom, break-the-mold reflection of their love story so they and their guests will have “remember when” moments for years to come.

Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I was recently nominated as a finalist in the Southern Weddings’ Best of the South Awards for “Best Event Planner.” My work has also been published in various publications and blogs including Southern Weddings, Coastal Weddings, The Knot, Borrowed and Blue, Carolina Bride Magazine, and more! I am also a featured writer on the Aisle Planner blog, providing advice and guidance to newer planners who are looking to improve their craft.
Location/Coverage: Georgia, North Carolina, and the Southeast
How I got into weddings: My love of weddings and entertaining began when I was a little girl. My mother and step-father had a classic white wedding when I was seven years old, and the spark was ignited. At eight years old, I begged to go to etiquette school (twice). I was that college student who spent her free time reading Southern Weddings and Martha Stewart Weddings, and watching (read: sobbing through) wedding video trailers of couples I didn’t even know. Still, I didn’t really believe that wedding planning could be an actual career possibility for me until I was engaged myself, so I became a kindergarten teacher. After my own wedding (and many hard years in the classroom), I decided to turn in my no. 2 pencils and pursue a career as a wedding planner. I found that my passion for weddings combined with my knack for organization, communication, and creativity made wedding planning a great career fit for me! Waking up to do something I love every single day is nothing short of a dream, and I bring that enthusiasm to every couple that I have the honor of partnering with.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? Southern couples know how to host a great party! If you grew up in a Southern town like me, chances are you learned how to set a formal place setting, write a personal thank you note, and shag dance, all at a young age. Hospitality and great entertaining is in our blood, and so Southern weddings are often marked by great dancing music, delicious comfort food, and tons of warm embraces. That, and the incorporation of meaningful traditions and heirlooms, many of which are passed down through generations of family members and friends.
Favorite part of a wedding day? I have grown to really love the first look. I didn’t do one myself, but if I could go back in time, I would! There is something so special about having some one-on-one time together before the festivities begin, to reset and calm your nerves! Also, the photos are always fabulous.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Stay focused on what is most important about your wedding day: celebrating your marriage! It is so easy to get caught up in the details and logistics of the day, but once you have hired your vendors and carefully mapped out your plans, relax and let them take care of you. Soak up the little moments, give and receive lots of hugs from your guests, and spend as much time with your new spouse on the dance floor as possible!
Dream travel destination? Italy!
Favorite Southern city? Chapel Hill, North Carolina! My husband and I met each other at summer camp growing up, but we fell in love during college at UNC. Close second? Charleston, South Carolina!
Early bird or night owl? If I had to choose, I would be a night owl. I am slow to wake up in the mornings!
Favorite pie flavor? My mama’s coconut custard pie.
Favorite biscuit topping? Fried chicken and honey! Or honey with butter. I love the combination of salty and sweet!
