Y’all today’s bride is too cute. Ashley looked poised and feminine with her not-too-perfect curly bun and ethereal Vera Wang dress. Flanked by her 10 bridesmaids in J. Crew, she was ready to say “I do” to Patrick under a trellis of vines and white hydrangea. The arched ceremony arrangement in the middle of the Historic Rucker Place was beautiful and followed through with the elegant garden theme that the couple’s invitations suggested. A big thank you to Spindle Photography for sharing this wedding with us!

P.S. Isn’t that bow-tie print out handy? Get your own here!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We are high school sweethearts.
Describe the proposal. After living in New York, I was back in Alabama and wedding talk had been in the air. I had an idea that the proposal was coming any day! However, I had no idea that it was going to be awesome as it was! It was a random Monday night and I was getting my car to drive over to see Patrick. When I got into my car, I noticed that there were pink tulips, a bottle of my favorite Sauvignon Blanc, and a card in my passenger’s seat. I picked up the card and inside there was a folded piece of paper that had a hand written note that said, “Want to go to New York this weekend?” When I unfolded the paper it was our flight reservation. At that moment, I just knew this trip had to be for the proposal! However, we weren’t leaving for another 3 days and the anticipation was almost unbearable! When we got there, we were able to take some time to enjoy all the city has to offer. One afternoon, when we finished lunch at one of my favorite and most authentic pizza spots in the city, we headed to central park to enjoy the rest of the day. While walking along one of the park’s cobblestone paths, Patrick stopped me. When I turned to look at him, he was down on one knee, ring in hand, asking me to be his wife. Of course I said yes! We then got in a carriage and took a ride around the park to soak up the moment. It was beautiful and absolutely perfect!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Cheerful, warm, relaxed
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: It was so easy! I’d seen it online several months before we got engaged and fell in love! After drooling over it, I found the nearest boutique that carried it and went to try it on. It was the first dress I put on, and I knew it was the one!
What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? The DRESS!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? It is really hard to pick just one. One of the most outstanding memories is that we left the marriage license at home and we didn’t realize it until we were lined up ready to walk out. We had to send one of our good friends to our apartment on a hunt for it at the VERY last minute. The show went on, however, we performed the ceremony without the license. It made it there in time for the pastor to give it his John Hancock.

This pink and grey inspiration shoot from Anne Robert Photography and Kelley Cannon Events is the perfect mid-day pick-me-up, don’t you think? The rustic colors and textures, combined with modern accents, put a new spin on a beautiful color palette. Add in the backdrop of a former horse farm and GORGEOUS blooms from Holly Chapple Flowers, and I’m won over. The newlyweds in this shoot are real life husband and wife Naomi and Josh, the duo behind the beyond-fabulous Rockstar Diaries blog (any other super fans out there?!). We love seeing them take a trip down memory lane in this shoot!

P.S. Don’t you love the combination of Naomi’s demure dress and just-enough-volume Southern bump? They play off each other so perfectly!

Hi Lexi! So sorry for the confusion! Our site was hacked a week or so ago, and though we got most of our content back immediately, we’re still trying to rebuild some past posts that disappeared. Everything should be back up within the next week, so thank you so much for your patience!
