Don’t forget — now through the end of summer, if you order one copy of V2, we’ll throw in another copy on us!  Purchase one here and check out the details here.

Making Things Happen fans rejoice!  Lara is going on another nationwide tour this fall.  San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Houston will soon have the chance to get fired up in business and in life.  Curious?  Don’t delay!  The tour was announced a week ago and about half of the seats have already sold.  Read all about it here and sign up hereP.S. Check out the new FAQ section if you have no idea what I’m talking about!

Lastly, advertising opportunities are still available for V3!  We had a tremendous response to our 50% off deal in honor of my and Katharine’s SW anniversary, but there’s room for a few more fab vendors to join the party.  Email Katharine to receive our current media kit and have your sponsorship questions answered!

Louise + Drew treated guests to an authentic Southern reception at the bride’s home in Texas.  Brooke Schwab photographed the poolside soiree, and Angela Nix planned the event.  My favorite detail – besides to too-cool masks + sunglasses rocked at the end of the night, naturally?  The gorgeous flowered confection from Susie’s Cakes.  Want a bit more?  Take a peek at Brooke’s blog post from the evening here.

Describe your wedding flowers: My flowers and bouquet were by Jonathan Andrew Sage, but because the wedding took place in my family garden a lot of the flowers were potted plants and trees from Newton Nursery.
Describe your wedding cake:  The bride’s cake was a dramatic white cake with purple Irises climbing up it. The groom’s cake was our French Bulldog, Pickles resting by Drew’s law books.  The bride’s cake was white almond flavor.  The law books were carrot cake and Pickles was chocolate.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding?  It really was a blast, my mother and I had so much fun. But if I had to say, a challenge was being patient to allow the day to arrive.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Walking down the isle and seeing Drew
What’s next for you as a couple?  What are you looking forward to in the future? We are looking forward to traveling as much as possible and just enjoyed being married.  We are so happy!!!

Congratulations, Louise + Drew!  We hope you always will be this happy together!

The soft touches of purple are incredibly placed, the food is the epitome of comfort and class, and those CD favors are pretty much the best. I love when a couple can give a small gift that has a personal touch.

We <3 Brooke Schawb, and we <3 Louise + Drew’s simple Southern Texas wedding.  Jonathan Andrew Sage of Newton Nursey styled the couple’s all-white blooms.  I spent a few minutes oohing and ahhing over Louise’s Ulla-Maija gown: half tulle, half silk, and all unique, we love that the bride updated a classic shape by mixing light, whimsical tulle with more sophisticated and structured silk.  What do you think?  (I’m pretty sure I can guess who y’all feel about those glitzy + glam Christian Louboutins…)  Another definite fashion yes?  The bridesmaids luxe navy dresses from Priscilla of Boston.

How did the two of you meet?  Tell us your story.  We met when we were I was in 8th grade and he was in 9th grade, but we knew we had to wait until we were both in high school until he could ask me out. For the next 13 years we were either dating, best friends or enemies….full of drama and passion just as high school should be….we both ended up back in Houston and were in similar places so we got back together for good!
Describe the proposal. We were visiting UT Law in Austin and we decided to get a room at our favorite hotel the San Jose. He surprised me with their garden suite full of flowers, his proposal and an engagement ring….and of course I said YES!!!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: magical, amazing, love fest
What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration?  What was Southern about your wedding?  The number of people in our bridal party!

Helping friend plan her wedding and she is looking for a small bouquet similar to the one the bride has here. I recognized the lily of the valley in it, but what is that other white flower?Beautiful wedding!
