You’ve already heard lots and lots about our WaterColor shoot, which we hope makes the final reveal even more satisfying!  To jog your memory, this was our initial inspiration for three of the shoots:

And here’s the opening pages of each of the actual shoots!

Clockwise from top left: Jory Cordy, Fred Egan, Jeff Holt, and Kyle Barnes.

What do you think?  Trust, the WaterColor shoot is one of the absolute best reasons to get your hands on a copy of the new issue as soon as you possibly can.

One more sneak peek coming up soon!

Really, I mean come on..how much goodness do you all have to blog about! I can’t get anything done for the fact of coming back constantly to your blog and dreaming up a new wedding for my wife and I of 5yrs…and then I’m drooling over the images…I try to work again, but can’t do it..got me envisioning all these things in my head!So glad we got to be a part of this issue of the magazine it is indeed an honor!

Like this morning’s sneak peek, this next article, “Beaus from Birmingham,” was a joy for me to work on.  It focuses on the Birmingham photography scene, a vibrant place hopping with talent.  I had the chance to interview several of the A Bryan Photo guys for the piece, including Bryan himself, Caleb Chancey, Branden Lower, Jeremiah Sizemore, and Josh Hausen, as well as Cary Norton and Bob Miller.  Caleb, Branden, Jeremiah, Josh, and Bob were all recently married, and this article features images from each of their lovely weddings as well as background info on their respective businesses. Keeping track of all of the gentlemen and their wives, as well as their vendor details, was quite the task for me at first, but after reading through their interviews, their individual personalities just shine.  I hope you’ll love the story as much as we loved putting it together!

This is actually the final page in the feature.  Check back tomorrow for two more sneak peeks!  Desperate to get your hands on a copy after today’s features?  Click here!

Over here at SW HQ, we have officially decided that Nov. 25 – Dec. 25 is our collective favorite month of the year.  Inspired by our love for the holiday season and our friend Vane over at Brooklyn Bride, we’ve decided to host our very own holiday ornament swap!  Here’s how things are going to go down:

If you would like to participate, send an email to emily [at] iloveswmag [dot] com (or click here!) with “Holiday Ornament Swap” in the subject line by Friday, November 27 (the day after Thanksgiving).  Include your name, address, email address, and website/blog address, if you have one.

By Wednesday, December 2, I will have emailed you the names and addresses of up to five people to send ornaments to.

You then have two options for the ornaments you send out:

Option One: Handmade by you.  We suggest getting familiar with Gocco, Yudu, Cricut, Photoshop… or just some good old fashioned construction paper, glitter, and glue.  Whichever design you choose, make sure it’s easy to produce in multiples – and ideally a bit Southern!

Option Two: Made by someone else.  That someone else could be your sister-in-law, it could be an Etsy vendor, or it could be your neighborhood Target.  It doesn’t have to be expensive!  You could even buy a multi-pack of ornaments and send one to each of your swap partners.

Whether you choose option one or two, be sure to send out your ornaments no later than Tuesday, December 15!  Then, all that’s left to do is wait for the holiday goodness to roll in.

A last note: Please don’t sign up if you don’t intend to follow through!  Think about how disappointed you would be if you sent out beautiful ornaments and didn’t receive a single one in response… I know I would be very disappointed.  And watch out for postage!

P.S. While you’re at it, how about signing up for Brooklyn Bride’s card swap, too?  The more, the merrier, we say!

Let the holidays begin, y’all!
