The ladies of {Elizabeth Anne Designs} are top notch!  I am so inspired by their posts– beautiful real weddings, expert event advice, stunning inspiration boards and to-die-for details, oh my!  We are honored to have them here with us at SWS this week to bring you their incredible southern wedding inspiration boards. And now, the beautiful and talented duo from EAD…

We are so thrilled to be guest blogging for Southern Wedding Style!  As Southern girls ourselves, we love injecting doses of true Southern charm into every style of event.  So this week, we will be sharing with you inspiration boards for five very different Southern affairs.  We hope that we inspire some ideas for planning your own Ultimate Southern Wedding! ~Ami and Rebekah

Southern Beach:

True Southerners love the beach – and beach weddings, especially in gorgeous rustic locales such as the Outer Banks and Amelia Island, are ever-popular.  This board illustrates the quintessential Southern rustic beach wedding – muted blues, lots of white, and a hint of kraft paper neutral.

Thank you to everyone for your patience this week and next as I move cross-country from Los Angeles to Chapel Hill, NC.  I have over 700 messages to respond to from my travels this week and promise to get to them ASAP.  If you need immediate assistance or have questions, please email Executive Editor, Danielle Flowers {danielle at swsmag dot com} or Features Editor, Leah Harrison, at {leah at swsmag dot com}. You can find very helpful info in our FAQ section about submitting real weddings and details features.

I am in Eugene, Oregon, right now for my brother-in-law’s wedding which will be fabulous!  I promise to post pics and details after the festivities.  We have been greeted with the most beautiful welcome baskets filled to the brim with local Oregon goodies.  Such a treat to be a guest at a wedding!  Here is the inspiration board the Bliss girls put together for their big day.  Andy + Amy will be married tomorrow on a Christmas tree farm among patches of wild blueberries and poppies.  So beautiful!

On Monday we are off to NC for the big move.  I am so excited to meet all of the NC brides and vendors who have emailed me over the last weeks.  Thank you for the very warm Southern welcome!

This has been a very exciting week for SWS.  A million thanks to the people who emailed about advertising.  We will get contracts out to you by July 15th.  Online galleries will now go live in August (we received so many requests that we’ve had to extend the launch date for our web designer), so if you have written us to reserve, we have you on the list.  For now, gather your 10 favorite images and write a 300 word write up about yourself.  Email this info to us when you receive your contract.

A FAQ: If I advertise online and on the blog, can I wait to decide on print and still get the package discount?  Yes.

Get LUCKY!  The Lucky 13 Contest ends MONDAY, so leave a comment about your luckiest moment in life to win!

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: the wedding cake and the red shoes!
Where there any special family traditions you included in the wedding? We used my mom’s veil as a backdrop on the potters shed. Inside the house, my mom’s wedding dress was displayed across the dining table… it was a beautiful touch. (you can see it displayed behind us in most of the shots of us cutting the cake) We wanted to use the toasting glasses that his parents used at their wedding.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Matt says, “Seeing Anna arrive on the carriage and walking down that aisle”
Scariest moment? Watching out the window of the guest house and seeing all the people start flowing in… I think back to the butterflies that were in my stomach…It reminded me of the stage fright I would experience just before going to go on stage for a high school play.
Funniest moment? After the ceremony was over, and the wedding party was being escorted out the front door of the house (where the ceremony took place) slowly creeped opened and my uncle’s dog walked out, stopped to look at everyone, as if to say, "you are dismissed" and then turned around and walked back into the house. It almost looked rehearsed …you could hear chuckling across all the aisles.
Why do you love your husband? I love who I am when I’m around him.
The most unexpected event on our wedding day was: As Matt and I were running out to the limo, my parents surprise us with fireworks! It was absolutely amazing!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: colorful, cultural, whimsical
Did you write your own vows? We used the "Hand Ceremony" as a guideline and modified it to fit us.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Delegate, as you’re planning be sure to include him and in the months prior spend time with together, set each other first, be confident in your commitment to each other…a single day isn’t as important as the rest of your lives!
