Elizabeth’s big day is fast approaching!  Only a week and half before this preppy southern bride walks down the aisle.  Here are a few big day details from Elizabeth of {Tie the Knot}

Bridal Party Attire

I knew right from the beginning that I wanted a very casual feel for the wedding. My bridesmaids are wearing {Vineyard Vines Seaport Seersucker} dresses in green. I chose this dress because I knew my girls would wear it again and they would be comfortable all night! The groomsmen are wearing Vineyard Vines green seersucker ties with little anchors on them, navy blazers, and linen pants. The groom wanted to stand out, so we chose Vineyard Vines twill pants in {Mariner}, which is a faded red color. His tie is red seersucker with anchors on it. I bought his blazer at {Jos A Bank}.  I keep telling myself that these are things he will wear again.  Originally I opted for a white seersucker dress from Thread for the bridesmaids but when it didn’t make it here on time I had to choose a more traditional dress. I have decided to use this Lilly Pulitzer Mckim Sandal in White for them.  Whenever people ask me questions about what we are wearing they can’t believe what I tell them, but I couldn’t imagine it any other way!

    This is so fun, I was so glad you shared that website too! I love the ties. My daughter’s wedding is at the beach (in a church, but at the beach) this summer and she is looking for unique and fun ways to make it special and appropriate for the location. Since she and her bridal party are all in college, they don’t care what people think either! They are brave enough to do things in their own less formal and traditional way. I think it will be really fun to shed some of the stuffy formalities! Melissa

Our show is live!  Go to {The Wedding Planning Audiocast’s Meet the Wedding Blogger’s section} to hear Lara’s recent interview.  {The Wedding Planning Audiocast} is the hottest new wedding planning resource guide for brides.  They are the most highly-subscribed-to wedding show on iTunes!  Several of our SWS contributors have been on the show… Mindy Weiss, Michelle Rago, etc.  Click on over and spend some time getting to know the people who create the things you are so inspired by.  We’ve listened to nearly all of the recent shows and had such a fantastic time hearing the voices behind a lot of our favorite blogs: {Snippet and Ink}, {Style Me Pretty}, {The Bride’s Cafe}, {Junebug Weddings} and {Ritzy Bee} all had really insightful shows.  Kudos to the wedding bloggers and to everyone who supports us daily with such positive feedback!  It is such a gift to do this daily and to share these celebrations of life and love with you.  Enjoy the show!  **One thing we want to clarify… (sometimes things get mixed up in editing) SWS had been in development for 2 years (not officially released) before the first issue debuted April 1.  We’ve been blogging since the beginning, but only the occasional update on the magazine progress and photo shoot previews.  The moment the print edition debuted (which, by the way you will be able to pick up on newsstands all over the Southeast this July… very exciting!) we got such fantastic feedback, that we decided to take the big leap and blog daily.  Our dreams have come true and the blog gets more exciting every day thanks to our dedicated readers and friends.  A million thanks to the brides, vendors, and all of the southern wedding lovers out there for making this blog a place for inspiration and celebration! We are thrilled about the future!  ~Leah, Danielle, Lara, Erica, Roxanne, Laura N, Madelyn, Joyce, Laurie and Ashley

We had several requests to extend the contest because of the holiday weekend.  People emailed and said they simply got wrapped up in barbecuing and "forgot" but really wanted to participate.  We’re in no rush and it’s a great excuse for everyone to get creative! : )  So, we’re giving you another week.  But that’s it!  You have one more short week with those finger paints and cameras of yours.  We’ve already gotten a slew of really fun entries, so we are excited about a few more days of receiving them.  Get your final entries in by next Monday night and voting will start next Tuesday.  This is a super easy and fun contest… anyone can win!

Who’s it for? Everyone! Brides, photographers, bloglovers, designers, artists, friends…anyone can get into this one and win!

What do I have to do? Take a picture (yes, it can be with your disposable camera or your fancy-schmancy pro equipment) of any tangible item that you create to say "SWS" or "I LOVE SWS".  No computer-generated text here.  You can draw it, make it out of paper clips on your desk, have your 2 year old scribble it for fun, have your bride and groom sign it with their fingers, write it in the sand or snow, place your SWS sign somewhere fun or in someone’s hands and snap a pic of it, make it out of paper mache, your favorite wedding clippings, flowers, buttons, glitter, or any combination of materials you desire!  Get crafty, get creative, and maybe even break out those finger paints you’ve been dying to play with again since you were 10.  Again, no "PhotoShopping" the letters in, you have to do it the old fashioned [fun] way.

Details: Enter as many images as you wish (collages of several images are great too).  Send your entries to [email protected] as jpeg attachments. Contest ends Monday the the 2nd, so you have about 1 more week to have fun with this.  We will post the finalists on Tuesday and YOU get to vote on your favorite this time!

Prize: Take your pick~ businesses, designers, vendors: an ad on our blog for a month OR brides, friends, blog lovers: a $25 {Paper-Source} gift card!

***We have another very exciting contest coming up this month with {Lucky Designs}!  More to come on that later…  have fun!
