Chris + Elizabeth’s summer soiree (found by {Lucky Designs} on {The Knot}) is definitely our Southern Wedding of the Week!  Her Tennessee wedding last June has so many personal touches.  She learned letterpress for the wedding and made these super fun southern favors for guests.  Absolutely perfect!  We have more details coming next week from the bride herself!  Check out her {bio page} for more.  Photography by {Michael Norwood}. Stay tuned for details from the gorgeous southern bride & beau…

Love the dresses. I never thought of white bridesmaid dresses but these looked stunning with the bride. And the southern touch was perfect. Wish I had thought of it for our wedding. Maybe my daughters will :)

We are SO excited about this contest!

Who’s it for? Everyone! Brides, photographers, bloglovers, designers, artists, friends…anyone can get into this one and win!

What do I have to do? Take a picture (yes, it can be with your disposable camera or your fancy-schmancy pro equipment) of any tangible item that you create to say "SWS" or "I LOVE SWS".  No computer-generated text here.  You can draw it, make it out of paper clips on your desk, have your 2 year old scribble it for fun, have your bride and groom sign it with their fingers, write it in the sand or snow, place your SWS sign somewhere fun or in someone’s hands and snap a pic of it, make it out of paper mache, your favorite wedding clippings, flowers, buttons, glitter, or any combination of materials you desire!  Get crafty, get creative, and maybe even break out those finger paints you’ve been dying to play with again since you were 10.  Again, no "PhotoShopping" the letters in, you have to do it the old fashioned [fun] way.

Details: Enter as many images as you wish (collages of several images are great too).  Send your entries to [email protected] as jpeg attachments. Contest ends Monday the 26th, so you have about 10 days to have fun with this.  We will post the finalists on Tuesday the 27th and YOU get to vote on your favorite this time!

Prize: Take your pick~ businesses, designers, vendors: an ad on our blog for a month OR brides, friends, blog lovers: a $25 {Paper-Source} gift card!

***We have another very exciting contest coming up this month with {Lucky Designs}!  More to come on that later…  have fun!

We love modern details on sweet southern backdrops. {Blue Nalu} shot these great details from Jason and Kate’s recent NC fete.  From Blue Nalu: “We spent this weekend in New Bern, NC capturing Jason and Kate’s wedding. We found out New Bern’s claim to fame is that Pepsi was invented here in 1898 (actually on the street corner next to where Jason and Kate tied the knot.) We had great weather on Saturday for their wedding and Friday for their {e-session}. Their reception took place waterfront at the New Bern Golf and Country Club where the band “Sugar” got everyone rockin’. One of the best wedding bands we have heard in a while… check them out {HERE}. While they were helping light guest’s sparklers, one of the bus boys lit his hair on fire, so that was cool. ; ) The night was capped off with fireworks as Jason and Kate were given a grand send off. Hope you guys have a great time in French Polynesia- sounds like a blast!”  We will be sure to get more details when the newlyweds return.  Congratulations!

Isn’t Kate’s dress just perfect?  Kate, you have to fill us in on where you found your stunning dress when you return from that amazing honeymoon of yours!

I absolutely love the black and white color palette, elegant and understated. Amazing!

  3. avatar catherine reply

Did you guys ever find out who made this wedding dress?

  4. avatar Katie Elfers reply

I fell in LOVE with this dress when I saw it in a Martha Stewart ad last year. It’s from Cymbeline in Paris… Vey hefty price tag, but oh so gorgeous! I instantly got giddy when I saw it on a "real" bride!

  5. avatar Karen reply

Where did she get those little signs with the moonpies on them? So cute!!!
