Secret Southern Garden

by in on

Like the secret garden of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s imagination, the site of this shoot (our V4 cover!) was long hidden away and overgrown from years of neglect. Now listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Dunaway Gardens has been more than returned to its former glory: it’s become the host to countless love stories through the couples that choose to say their vows in its hushed gardens.

Before the blanket of kudzu and wines settled in, however, Dunaway Gardens held and important place in Southern Weddings history: Lara’s grandmother was an actress at the storied theatrical training ground (frequented even by Walt Disney!). We are so thrilled to present just the lasted episode in this beautiful place’s long history — the story of Amy and Quincy, our gorgeous cover couple and real life sweethearts.

A Williamsburg Wedding

by in on

This shoot is still one of our very favorites, even though it’s a few years old now, and we think its classically lovely details will ensure it always remains so!  From the Beau Bar to the individual peanut cups, this story exudes the charm and hospitality Virginia is famous for.

South Carolina Polo Prep

by in on

Sometimes things work out even better than you could have planned, don’t you think?  With this shoot, everything just seemed to fall into place, from the stable-hand-turned-polo-playing groom to the polo balls that looked just right nestled into the centerpieces.  We love the leather accents, the gorgeous setting under two huge live oaks, and the mini Southern sweets and treats.

I love the top/skirt combination for the bridesmaid, I see you show where the skirt is found, but where did you find the tops? I would love this own combo for my upcoming wedding

[…] Bridesmaid skirt and top combos offer the opportunity to be uniform in creating a look but still fitting each lady well. For Spring and Summer, short skirts in bright colours add a dash of fun. And for those chilly Irish evenings, a cardigan looks grand with a skirt and top (not great with a dress on the other hand). This zesty and bright bridesmaids look came from J.
